Gateway Men NFW Here at Gateway Men, we seek God first. We're here to help you discover your strengths as a husband, father, businessman, and leader.

We’re all about people because God is all about people. One of the ways we express our love for Him is through our love for people, and we do that by helping each person who comes to Gateway grow in their relationship with the Lord. It begins with our vision to see people saved, healed, set free, discipled, equipped, empowered, and serving.

Why did Jesus fold the linen burial cloth after His resurrection? I never noticed this....

The Gospel of John (20:7) tells us that the napkin, which was placed over the face of Jesus, was not just thrown aside like the grave clothes. The Bible takes an entire verse to tell us that the napkin was neatly folded, and was placed separate from the grave clothes.

Early Sunday morning, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance. She ran and found Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved. She said, ‘They have taken the Lord’s body out of the tomb, and I don’t know where they have put him!’ Peter and the other disciple ran to the tomb to see.. The other disciple outran Peter and got there first. He stooped and looked in and saw the linen cloth lying there, but he didn’t go in.

Then Simon Peter arrived and went inside. He also noticed the linen wrappings lying there, while the cloth that had covered Jesus’ head was folded up and lying to the side.

Was that important? Absolutely! Is it really significant? Yes! In order to understand the significance of the folded napkin, you have to understand a little bit about Hebrew tradition of that day. The folded napkin had to do with the Master and Servant, and every Jewish boy knew this tradition.
When the servant set the dinner table for the master, he made sure that it was exactly the way the master wanted it..The table was furnished perfectly, and then the servant would wait, just out of sight, until the master had finished eating, and the servant would not dare touch that table, until the master was finished. Now, if the master were done eating, he would rise from the table, wipe his fingers, his mouth, and clean his beard, and would wad up that napkin and toss it onto the table. The servant would then know to clear the table. For in those days, the wadded napkin meant, ‘I’m done’. But if the master got up from the table, and folded his napkin, and laid it beside his plate, the servant would not dare touch the table,because... The folded napkin meant, ‘I’m coming back!’

HE’S COMING BACK!!!

Remember this today:
“If I’m only willing to love the people who are nice to me, the ones who see things the way I do, and avoid all the rest, it’s like reading every other page of the Bible and thinking I know what it says.”

Good word to walk with today:
Philippians 4:6
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."
Prayer is more than just talking to God; it's a powerful way to align our hearts with His will. When anxiety tries to take hold, turn to prayer. Present your requests to God with a heart full of gratitude, and watch how He works in your life. Prayer changes things, but more importantly, it changes us.

Remind us that we are no longer slaves to sin. We ask You, Lord, to help us receive freedom from guilt of past sins or decisions that make us feel ashamed. May Your grace and mercy abound in us

In Jesus’ name, AMEN!

Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.

It's Friday.
Psalm 46:10 says "Be still, and know that I am God."
In the busyness and chaos of life, it is essential to take moments to be still and recognize God's sovereignty. He is in control, and His plans for you are good. Take time each day to quiet your mind and focus on His presence. - Maverick City Music

Isaiah 40:31
But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
