Those who seeking the Lord Jesus through prayer, sacramental worship, and biblical teaching will find St. John’s to be their spiritual home, and St. John’s parishioners their warm parish family. This includes adult Bible Studies, book and theological studies for children and adults. We also use the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd as our standard children's program. Dr. Tim Watkins, who serves on the St. John’s Vestry, and his wife, Karen, recently returned from the Camino de Santiago, a famous Christian pilgrimage that concludes at the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in northwestern Spain. Tomorrow at 10:30 am in Ward Parlor, Tim will give a presentation about their pilgrimage. Mary McKinney, another recently returned pilgrim, will be available to share insights from her journey as well.

Don’t miss this opportunity to learn more about the Camino de Santiago and to contemplate the Christian tradition of pilgrimage more broadly.

Pentecost Sunday concluded our semester for Children’s and Youth Sunday School while we take a brief recess during the summer ♥️ Pentecost Sunday offers a beautiful service in our Children’s Chapel where students pick a particular gift of the Holy Spirit to be prayed over them for the coming year (examples: counsel, strength, piety, wisdom). Sweet treats were also generously provided by Kristy and Erik Leaseburg afterwards to celebrate in the Garth 😊

We are so excited to celebrate Pentecost and the baptism of 8 parishioners this coming Sunday, May 24th. Pentecost is the commemoration of the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles (in the book of Acts), and it takes place 50 days after Easter. Please join us and wear red if you’d like (a traditional liturgical color for Pentecost.) We hope to see you there! ♥️
