St. Stephen Presbyterian Church - Fort Worth, TX

St. Stephen Presbyterian Church - Fort Worth, TX An intentionally inclusive community, glorifying God in worship, fellowship, community and lives. We serve Christ through bold assertion of the Gospel.

A Welcoming Community of Believers

We take our faith seriously; but ourselves, not so much. Worshipping God and serving Jesus Christ and humanity are serious business, but they’re also joyful. They’re the evidence of God’s Kingdom present in the world, and that’s something to celebrate. We serve God through the worship of God in the timeless traditions of the Church. And we serve our neighbors i

n countless acts of mission. We serve one another through the genuine relationships that mark this community of believers. And through us, by God’s grace, Christ serves the world.

Wednesday Devotional: Then Jesus told his disciples: ‘If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For those who want to save their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit them if they gain the whole world but forfeit their life? Or what will they give in return for their life?’
—Matthew 16:24–26

Lord, make us mindful that there is no profit in gaining the whole world if we forfeit our lives. Amen.

On Tuesday, we held the final session of Room in the Inn for the summer. It was a joy to sing hymns, celebrate birthdays, and share a meal with a handful of Fort Worth’s unhoused women. Many thanks to all of the incredible volunteers it takes to drive vans, set up and tear down beds, provide meals, wash laundry, or simply show up to lend a hand - we are grateful. Room in the Inn will pick up again in December for the winter session. Be on the lookout for ways you can help with this important mission. And please, keep these women, and all who struggle with homelessness, in your prayers. Room In The Inn

Wednesday Devotional: “Be at peace today, good friend, for you are in the care of a love more profound than human language can describe. Only when we hold a new born life in our arms, only when we watch with pride a child at play, only when we are rendered speechless by the eyes of another person, only in times like these do we come close to grasping the depth of love that the Spirit feels for us each day. Be at peace, for from this love you can draw strength in abundance, wisdom without measure, healing to the core of your soul. Rise up in confident faith. You are the beloved of God.”
—Bishop Steven Carlton

Lord God, we thank you that we are Your beloved. May we be ever mindful of it. Amen.
