In a world that often divides us by political beliefs, it’s easy to forget something fundamental: every person is made in the image of God.

The person who voted differently than you. The person whose beliefs frustrate you. The person whose perspective you struggle to understand. They, too, bear the image of God.

As followers of Jesus, we’re called to see people through the lens of Scripture, not simply through the lens of our political convictions. We can disagree without devaluing one another, hold convictions without losing compassion, and engage in difficult conversations without forgetting the dignity of the person in front of us. Before you label someone by their politics, remember the image of God stamped on their life.

Our allegiance belongs to Jesus, and that should shape how we see and treat every person.

Have you ever noticed how easily politics can become part of who we are? It’s easy to let our political views shape how we see the world, even how we read Scripture. But as followers of Jesus, our identity should never be rooted in a political party. It should be rooted in Christ.

Our allegiance belongs to Him first. We don’t shape Jesus around our political beliefs; we allow our identity in Christ to shape the way we think, believe, and engage in politics.
