Due to icy road conditions, NLDF will be closed Wednesday, January 28. That means we won’t be meeting in person for Bible study.

The good news is we will gather for Bible study on Zoom from 7:00–8:30 PM. We’d love for you to join us there! If you'd like the Zoom info, please email [email protected].

Hope to see you online! Stay safe and warm!

Important Sunday Update

Due to icy roads and winter weather across the DFW area, the NLDF Elders have decided to cancel in-person worship this Sunday, January 25, for everyone’s safety.

Instead, we will hold a full worship service online, livestreamed Sunday at 10:15 AM on Facebook and YouTube.

Though we’re physically apart, we remember Jesus’ words in John 4—that God seeks those who worship in spirit and in truth. We can still worship together, wherever we are.

We look forward to gathering in person next week, Lord willing. Stay safe and God bless.

Day 4 of VBS: Forgiveness

Last night we explored the final chapter of Jonah and discovered that God is full of mercy, compassion, and love—even when we struggle to forgive. God forgave the people of Nineveh, and He wants us to forgive others too!

“You are a gracious and compassionate God… abounding in love.” – Jonah 4:2

Forgive one another, just as God forgave you.” – Ephesians 4:32

🌱At the snack station, the kids made “dirt” pudding cups with crushed oreos, a gummy worm, and a leafy straw. The straw represented the plant that grew over Jonah to give him shade, and the gummy worm reminded us of the worm that ate the plant—teaching Jonah (and us!) a lesson about God’s compassion for all people.

We made glowing jellyfish lanterns using glow sticks, stickers, and ribbon. Then we added words and Bible verses about forgiveness—a reminder that forgiveness brings freedom and joy. When we forgive, we experience peace, and that peace shines through us! ✨

For games, the kids dipped their toes into ice-cold water 🥶—a chilly reminder of Jonah’s cold heart when he didn’t want to forgive others.

Tonight reminded us that God doesn’t just forgive us—He calls us to forgive others too. It was a wonderful night!

🌊 Day 3 of VBS recap!

We had another amazing evening at VBS as we continued our journey through the story of Jonah. Our focus was on Jonah chapter 3, where Jonah finally obeys God’s call and goes to Nineveh. The people listened, turned from their ways—and God gave them a second chance, too!

“Jonah got up and went to Nineveh according to the Lord’s command.” – Jonah 3:3

“Then the people of Nineveh believed God.” – Jonah 3:5

Big takeaway: It’s never too late to turn to God.

🥨 We made Turnaround Trail Mix to remind us of what repentance looks like:
• Pretzels = turning our lives around
• M&Ms = the sweetness of forgiveness
• Dried kiwi = new growth
• Mini marshmallows = a clean heart

🛟 The kids also made life preserver photo frames to remember: God saved Nineveh — God saves me!

⚡️ And we played some fun games where we “raced to Nineveh” to share the good news of God’s love and forgiveness!

We’re hooked—Day 2 was amazing! 🎣

Today we learned that God sees and hears us—no matter where we are! Just like Jonah prayed from inside the belly of a big fish, we can talk to God anytime, anywhere—and He listens.

The fun continued with an action-packed obstacle course, a whale-fold craft where Jonah hides inside the mouth 🐋, and a yummy ocean snack with yogurt, graham crackers, and gummy whales!
