👉🏻 On Saturday, September 6, a faith-based coalition in Tarrant County is hosting the very first safe gun/firearm disposal event in Fort Worth. From 9:00AM-12:00 noon, people can bring unwanted and unloaded fi****ms in the trunk or rear of their vehicle to New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church located at 2864 Mississippi Ave. near East Berry Street and I-35.

Guns will be dismantled and made into garden tools and other leftover parts will be transformed by blacksmiths and artists into items such as jewelry and art. Skilled personnel, according to the rules of the Bureau of Alcohol, To***co, Fi****ms and Explosives, will dismantle the fi****ms. Gift cards will be offered to those who donate while supplies last.

This firearm disposal event comes a week after the 339th mass shooting in the United States. Another event is planned the following day in Dallas .
