Neighborhood needs has been serving food and providing clothing free of charge to 7 zip codes in Southwest Fort Worth since 1995. In addition we are supporting our local schools and apartments that are across from our facility with food and clothing to the children/students. Most of our food is purchased from Tarrant Food Bank but we fill in with purchases from a wholesaler at wholesale prices. In
addition we receive significant food contributions from the various food drives that donate to us. All of the clothing is donated to us and sorted and sized by the volunteers. All clothes that we feel can be used will go into our Thrift Store open every Wednesday and Saturday from 10:00am-2:00pm to support purchasing food. Anyone who is in need of clothing but is unable to pay will have an opportunity to shop at no cost. We operate on a schedule of prep on Monday 8:30 to 11:30/ open on Tuesday 8:30 to 11:30 / prep on Thursday and Friday 8:30 to 11:30/ open on Saturday 8:30 to 11:30. Volunteers arrive about 8:30 and are done by 12:00 each of the 4 days. Neighborhood Needs is grateful to have many other collaborators/partners who contribute food, donate food and clothing, volunteer, share resources, and or help distribute food and clothing to our community and 3 local schools. Currently we have 12 local churches and 8 local companies donating fresh produce, cans and other items to support.
