As we conclude our study in the book of Hebrews, the writer gives final instructions to the Jewish believers he is addressing. He contrasts the ritualistic and ceremonial worship the Jews were continuing under the Law with the true, spiritual worship centered in Christ, emphasizing that these believers needed to "go forth to Him [Christ] outside the camp" [of Judaism under the law]. The last part of the book is in the form of a letter, in which we find personal requests, blessings, greetings, and a benediction.

Good morning. We conclude our study in the book of Hebrews today.

"Go Forth to Him Outside the Camp" (Heb. 13:9-25)

As we conclude our study in the book of Hebrews, the writer gives final instructions to the Jewish believers he is addressing. The final chapters of the book of Hebrews focus on a better way to live: by faith. Hebrews 11 gives examples of faith. Hebrews 12 stresses the need for endurance of faith. The final chapter, Hebrews 13, provides evidence of faith in the lives of believers. This morning, we consider some unchanging truths about how believers are instructed to live and the strength and assurance we have in our unchanging Christ.

Good morning! This morning, we begin looking at the final chapter of the book of Hebrews.

"Unchanging Truths - Unchanging Christ" (Heb. 13:1-8)

The final chapters of the book of Hebrews focus on a better way to live: by faith. Hebrews 11 gives examples of faith. Hebrews 12 stresses the need for endurance of faith. The final chapter, Hebrews 13, provides evidence of faith in the lives of believers. We continue looking at the call to run with patient endurance the race set before us, "looking unto Jesus" and contemplating His own patient endurance of the agony of the cross. In the remaining portion of Hebrews 12, we find instructions that help believers to endure, dangers to guard against, and then a contrast between two mountains, Mt. Sinai and Mt. Zion, which picture the two covenants, the old covenant of law and the new covenant in Christ. The chapter concludes with the 5th and final warning passage found in the book of Hebrews:"See that you do not refuse Him who speaks."
