“Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. When they saw him, they worshiped him, but they doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.””

Join us at 11:00 a.m. for Sunday worship.

As an Academy 4 sponsoring church this Sunday May 31st St. Matthew's has the privilege of honoring 3 Southwest High School 2026 graduates through Full Circle Scholarships from Academy 4. St. Matthew's could not be prouder to be a part of these scholar's educational development.

Hannah, Janny and Jimena will be with us in worship service where each will be presented with $2,000 scholarships from Academy 4. These scholarships were earned through academic excellence along with serving as an Academy 4 mentor at Woodway Elementary for the past two years.

One of these scholars -Janny, along with her brothers were some of our first students at the St. Matthew's Ready, Set, Go tutoring center back in 2015.

We ask that everyone include these scholars in your prayers as they continue their educational journey this fall!

“When the day of Pentecost had come, [the apostles] were all together in one place. And suddenly from heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. Divided tongues, as of fire, appeared among them, and a tongue rested on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them ability.”

“After Jesus had spoken these words [to his disciples,] he looked up to heaven and said, “Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son so that the Son may glorify you, since you have given him authority over all people, to give eternal life to all whom you have given him. And this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. I glorified you on earth by finishing the work that you gave me to do. So now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had in your presence before the world existed.””

St. Matthew’s is a proud participant in Woodway Elementary’s “Woodway Reads” program.

Volunteers received a beautiful thank you breakfast and thank you gift this past Friday as the program wraps up for the school year.

Woodway Reads volunteers work with students in grades 2nd and 3rd to help them reach their goals of reading on grade level and above. As we all know reading skills are a direct indicator of future academic success and can even have an impact on future crime rates in our communities.

Woodway Reads is open to all volunteers in the SW FW community and will kick off again in September for the 2026-2027 school year. If this community outreach sounds like something you would like to dedicate your time to please contact Kelly Riddle @ [email protected] for more information!

Also, we congratulate Mrs. Bender- creator and coordinator of the Woodway Reads program on receiving Teacher of the Year honors this year!!

“I will not leave you orphaned; I am coming to you. In a little while the world will no longer see me, but you will see me; because I live, you also will live. On that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. They who have my commandments and keep them are those who love me, and those who love me will be loved by my Father, and I will love them and reveal myself to them.”
