St. Matthew's is a proud community partner of DRC-Solutions to End Homelessness. St. Matthew's makes it a priority every summer to support the efforts of DRC in providing bug spray, sunscreen and bottled water to our Fort Worth area un-housed brothers and sisters.

Come join us every Sunday morning for worship at 11:00 a.m. as we strive to love our neighbors as ourselves! .........

We can always count on the members of St Matthew's Lutheran to assist the neighbors we serve! On behalf of our staff, our unsheltered neighbors, and our entire community who will directly benefit from your support- please know how deeply grateful we are! Your donation of cutter bug spray will be given to clients immediately.

In Tarrant County, there were more than 3000 individuals and families experiencing homelessness in 2026. Many of those people are working or aren't able to because of physical impairment Many people have children and families who depend on them while wages stay stagnant and the cost of living rapidly rises. Nearly all face barriers that make stability feel out of reach without your help.
Because of supporters like you, our team can provide:

Street Outreach that builds trust and connects unsheltered neighbors to services o Critical Document Recovery so people can access jobs, healthcare, and housing with their personal identification

Permanent-Supportive Housing that offers not just a roof, but dignity and stability with a dedicated case manager who walks beside clients towards their goals.

These programs are designed not only to help individuals exit homelessness, but to strengthen the health, safety, and well-being of our entire community. Your generosity creates real, measurable impact. It also reminds our clients that they are seen, valued, and not alone.

St. Matthew's will be participating in the ELCA nation-wide day of service God's Work Our Hands Sunday on September 13th.

One of our service projects will be to replenish and restock our small but very important and needed food pantry that we have on premises at St. Matthew's.

Beginning this Sunday August 23rd, we appreciate everyone who is able bringing in a few shelf stable items to help the pantry. Toiletries are also very needed and helpful-travel sizes work great.

St. Matthew's celebrated Back to School this past Sunday with a special blessing for our students, educators and educational volunteers.

St. Matthew's is blessed to have many educators in our congregation past and present. St. Matthew's is a proud sponsor and supporter of our neighborhood schools. We hope and pray that EVERYONE has a fulfilling and productive 2026-2027 school year.

“Jesus left that place and went away to the district of Tyre and Sidon. Just then a Canaanite woman from that region came out and started shouting, “Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David; my daughter is tormented by a demon.” But he did not answer her at all. And his disciples came and urged him, saying, “Send her away, for she keeps shouting after us.” He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” But she came and knelt before him, saying, “Lord, help me.” He answered, “It is not fair to take the children’s food and throw it to the dogs.” She said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters’ table.” Then Jesus answered her, “Woman, great is your faith! Let it be done for you as you wish.” And her daughter was healed from that moment.”

In the spirit of Tarrant Churches Together which sadly ceased operation during covid the idea of trying to bring local community outreach leaders back together has been upon us. Thanks to Harriet our wonderful contact at The DRC Solutions - today it was able to happen!

Rev. Robyn Michalove First Presbyterian Church, Rev. Allen Lutes University Christian Church, Jackie Ferguson Outreach Coordinator Trinity Episcopal Church, and Kelly Riddle SMLC Community Engagement Coordinator meet today at St. Matthew's to discuss how best we can work and come together, sharing our ideas, resources and information for the greater good of the SW Ft. Worth community.

St. Matthew's has a long history of community engagement and outreach and remains committed to uplifting our local neighborhoods and schools all that we can.
