This great, historical church has made outstanding contributions not only to the city of Fort Worth and state of Texas, but has contributed in its religious efforts nationally and internationally. James Baptist Church was organized in 1895 by Reverend J. Francis Robinson with thirty members. These members and minister had formerly been a part of the membership of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church of Fort

Worth, Texas. James was blessed with great pastors: Rev. Francis Robinson, Rev. Fisher, Rev. W.F. Lawson, Rev. J.P. Pruitt, Rev. J.B. Slaughter, Rev. W.H. Burroughs, Rev. W.M. Conner, Rev. J.M. Winn, Rev. W.S. Brent, Rev. O.P. Felder, Rev. C.A. Holiday, Rev. Bobby Webber, Rev. Jerry Wm. Dailey, Rev. R.C. Johnson, and presently Rev. Salestirest "Les" Brewer.
