“We can admire Jesus and say, ‘He's a great guy. I admire his love and compassion and his holiness. I admire what he said and what he stood for.’
But do you want to follow him?
‘Do you say, ‘No, no, no. I'm busy? I've got my own agenda. I've got my things I'm doing. And I've got a plan for my life. And I don't really have time to commit my life to him right now.’
We're doing the exact same thing. Just enjoying the goodness of Jesus, but really not a commitment to take up the mission and follow Him.
One of the things that troubles me the most is among the Christians today.
I see just churches full of Christians who are like, ‘I want forgiveness and mercy and grace. And I'll take some financial blessing. I'll take a little physical healing. God, I need this. God, I want this…’
And they never hear the voice of Jesus saying, ‘Take up your cross and follow Me. Come join My mission. Come, take up the work that I left off and finish it for Me. Listen, there is not one without the other, guys.
If we're going to call Him Savior, then we also have to call Him Lord and say, you're in charge and I'm going to now follow you and do what you've assigned for me to do.” - Pastor Bobby Herrell
