Our Ministry Expo highlight today is Adult Discipleship.

One of the best ways to experience an ongoing sense of fellowship in a church family is to regularly participate with a class, group, or ministry. Each of these environments give us the chance to mature in faith and grow in our love for one another and love for God.

Welcome to our final week of our Ministry Expo!

Our Ministry Expo highlight today is the Neighborhood Needs Community Garden.
Neighborhood Needs Community Garden is growing! The gardeners (former refugees from Bhutan) are working hard to keep the garden alive during this hot, dry summer. They can't wait for cooler weather for planting fall seeds and transplants!

Featured plants are Asian eggplant, hot chilis and squash. The tiny plants are mustard plants that grow well in the fall.

We are thankful for Dewitt Mahanay and all the work she does to help our neighbors grow food for their families!

Today we are talking about Ladies Bible Class as part of the Ministry Expo:

The Ladies Bible Class Ministry at Altamesa serves to provide a safe and nurturing place for women of all ages who would like to study God’s word and share experiences.

From September to May, we offer a class that meets on Thursdays at 10 am. We have varied teachers, may at times discuss a book or workbook together, or experience a video session. We strive to bring ladies closer to God and each other through study and fellowship.

Today's ministry highlight is Meal Blessings!

Meal Blessings is an opportunity to provide a meal to anyone in our church family who may be in a season that makes meal preparation challenging, i.e. after a hospital stay, birth of a baby, illness, etc.

If you have ever been in need in this way, you know it is so much more than a meal that is provided for you. Meal Blessings is a way to show God's love through kindness and compassion. When you join this team, you have the option of making a meal or providing the family with gift cards to local restaurants. It's a great way to serve one another.

Today's ministry highlight is the Altamesa Worship Ministry:

The worship ministry is a spirited group of servant-hearted volunteers who participate in many capacities to promote a culture of praise and worship in our church in which all are invited to participate. Altamesa has a longstanding history of vibrant congregational singing that is facilitated through the leadership of our worship teams. Through a collective heart for worshiping God, our worship ministry leads the way in connecting our church to one another and to the Lord when we gather together as a church family.

There are a variety of ways to serve within the worship ministry:
-Vocalist
-Worship Band Instrumentalist
-Audio Visual

Today we are highlighting Cast Youth Ministry here at Altamesa:

What do you think of when you hear the word cast? Do you think of fishing? Going to the doctor after a broken arm? A group of people in a play? When you think about it, it’s a very diverse word:

-traversing the scope of fishing (cast a line),
-farming (casting seed), light (casting a light/shadow),
-theatre (all-star cast),
-marine navigation (cast sail/anchor, castaway),
-sculpture (casting a mold), and medicine (a cast)

Each one of these, when partnered with Spiritual thought and the words of the Bible, can have a very rich theological meaning. We have boiled down the various definitions of the word “Cast” and turned it into 5 truths we want every teen who attends our program to learn, understand, feel, and know: I am chosen, I am set free, I belong, I am his clay, I am light.

Today, as a part of our Ministry Expo, we want to highlight Marriage Connect:

Marriage Connect is a gathering of married couples that provides opportunity for couples to connect within their marriage and with other couples. Whether you've been married a few months or a few decades, Marriage Connect is for you!
