Saint Andrews UMC FTW Welcome to the page of Saint Andrews United Methodist Church, 522 Missouri Ave., Fort Worth, TX, 76104. Please check often for our announcements. (Rev.

Carol G. Gibson - Senior Pastor) Greetings to our guests! We pray that something is said and done to make you feel welcome and to encourage you in the way of Christ. Please come and worship with us at every opportunity. Thank you for sharing in this worship experience - Senior Pastor Rev. Carol Grant Gibson and the SAUMC Family. We are a church rich with history, but also excited about the future.

We are striving to become a multicultural church family that will welcome and encourage you. We hope you find God's blessings by worshiping Him and going where he leads. So we care enough about people’s lives to risk interpreting God’s love, to take a stand, to call each of us into a response, no matter how controversial or complex. The church helps us think and act out a faith perspective, not just go along with what appears to be the most popular choice.

We live to practice our faith in our homes, our workplaces, and our communities.

Today's 'Upper Room'....

“Think not what you can do for God but what God can do in you.” I will never forget these words so wisely advised by a retiring ministry leader at a general assembly I attended. I felt God was speaking them directly to me. I was a new hire in ministry, but I had years of experience in other ...

It's easy to shape Jesus into our preferences, our traditions, or our opinions. It's much harder... and much more transformative... to allow Him to shape us. 🙏

Jesus didn't come to fit neatly into our categories. He came to reveal the heart of God. His invitation has always been the same: follow Me. Not follow a culture. Not follow a label. Not follow a tribe. Follow Me.

The closer we walk with Him, the more we begin to love what He loves, extend grace as He did, and reflect His heart to a world that desperately needs hope. If you're looking for thoughtful, Christ-centered encouragement throughout the week, we'd love to welcome you into our community. Receive our FREE weekly devotional filled with practical faith, hope, and encouragement for everyday life. Everything is linked in our bio.

Thank you for being part of the Mindful Christianity family.

Prayer is simply a conversation with God....

Amen...

One of the most common questions people ask is: "How do I pray?"

The good news is that prayer was never meant to be complicated.

Prayer is simply a conversation with God.

You do not need perfect words.

You do not need special language.

You do not need to impress God.

In fact, Jesus warned against praying simply to be seen by others.

God is not looking for a performance.

He is looking for your heart.

Some of the most powerful prayers in the Bible were incredibly simple.

"Lord, save me."

"Help me."

"Forgive me."

"Thank You."

Prayer is not about informing God of something He doesn't already know.

It is about building a relationship with Him.

Like any relationship, it grows through communication.

A simple pattern that many people find helpful is:

Praise.Thanksgiving.Confession.Requests.

Start by praising God for who He is.

Thank Him for the blessings in your life.

Confess your sins and shortcomings honestly.

Then bring your needs, worries, fears, hopes, and requests before Him.

But remember this:

Prayer is not only talking.

It is also listening.

Many people rush into prayer, say everything they want to say, and then rush back into life.

Sometimes the most meaningful part of prayer happens when we sit quietly and allow God to speak to our hearts through His Word, His Spirit, and His guidance.

Prayer does not always change our circumstances immediately.

But it almost always changes us.

It brings peace in the middle of chaos.

Strength in the middle of weakness.

Hope in the middle of uncertainty.

And most importantly, it draws us closer to God.

If you've never prayed before, start today.

Keep it simple.

Be honest.

Talk to God like a loving Father.

Because that's exactly who He is.

🙏 A Simple Daily Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for this new day and for the gift of life. You are loving, faithful, merciful, and good. You created me, You know me, and You love me more than I can fully understand. I praise You for who You are and for the countless ways You work in my life, even when I cannot see it.

Thank You for my family, my friends, my health, my home, and the many blessings I often take for granted. Thank You for every opportunity You have given me and for Your grace that carries me through both the good days and the difficult ones.

Father, I confess that I am not perfect. I fall short in my thoughts, words, and actions. Forgive me for the times I put my own desires ahead of Your will. Forgive me for my pride, my impatience, my worries, and my failures. Thank You for the forgiveness that is available through Jesus Christ.

Today, I ask for Your guidance and wisdom. Help me make good decisions and honor You in everything I do. Give me strength where I am weak, peace where I am anxious, and courage where I am afraid.

Help me to see people the way You see them. Show me opportunities to encourage someone, help someone, forgive someone, or simply be a blessing to someone who needs it.

Protect my family and loved ones. Draw us closer to You. Help us trust You more and worry less.

Most of all, help me grow in my relationship with You. Teach me to love You with all my heart and to love others as You have loved me.

Thank You for hearing my prayer.

In Jesus' name,

Amen. ❤️
