St. Mary of the Assumption, Fort Worth

St. Mary of the Assumption, Fort Worth (Official Page) We are a Stewardship Parish. Through the Virgin Mary, God redeemed all creation (Official page)
The first Mass at St.

Mary’s was celebrated on May 4, 1909, in the small wooden building that constituted the first Church. After a fire destroyed that building in 1922, the present Church was constructed and the first Mass was celebrated on July 20, 1924. A jewel of Romanesque architecture, the new St. Mary’s instantly became a prominent landmark on Magnolia Avenue. The third Catholic Church to be established in the C

ity of Fort Worth, St. Mary’s is the “mother church” of all the other parishes south and west of the city.

Yesterday evening Catechists gathered in preparation for the upcoming Religious Formation year. They were welcomed and encouraged by Bishop Siby Peedikayil, HGN who traveled from Papaya New Guinea. He reminded each one to embrace the gift of teaching the Catholic faith while embarking on this beautiful experience God has planned for them. Thank you to all the those who have volunteered to step into this role and thank you to Bishop Siby Peedikayil for the spiritual guidance.

Join us in congratulating our newest deacon candidates: Steven Bartolotta, Fernando Romero, Emmanuel Ogidan, and Jaime Bermea! 🙏

The four men celebrated the Rite of Admission to Candidacy during Mass at St. Mary of the Assumption Parish on Aug. 10. Please pray for them as they continue their discernment.
