⚠️ STOP SAYING THIS TO YOUR PASTOR ⚠️

I’ve been trying to find the right wording for this Hard 💊….

🥴 Oddly enough, it can feel insulting to tell a pastor, “GET SOME REST.” Not because rest is wrong, rest is necessary, but because timing matters. A pastor who is locked in, focused, and driving momentum among the people may hear “get some rest” not as care, but as contradiction. Why? Because if the season demands collective labor, it is hard to rest while the weight of the work still lies uncarried.

🚨🥴 The truth is, many pastors don’t rest, not because they don’t value recovery, but because too few are working with them. When the labor is uneven, the leader becomes the lifeline. And when the leader feels like the only one pushing, “rest” sounds less like wisdom and more like abandonment.

📌🎯 If you really want your pastor to rest, don’t just tell him, work with them. Build, carry, push, serve. Shared labor creates space for shared rest. But until the church matches the urgency of the pastor, rest feels like a luxury he cannot afford.
