We’re looking forward to welcoming Doug Eicher to Harvest at The Summit tomorrow morning!

Doug serves with our Harvest Main church family, discipling new believers, helping them grow in their walk with Christ. We’re grateful for the way he serves within the broader ministry of Harvest, and we’re excited to have him with us at The Summit!

Tomorrow, he’ll be teaching from Colossians 2 and reminding us of a truth we all need: Jesus is enough.

Everywhere they turned, the Colossian church faced tremendous pressure to believe that Jesus was not enough. Whether from the broader Roman world, local Jewish influences, or even their own friends and neighbors, they were constantly being confronted with the idea that they needed something more; some religious practice, spiritual experience, or deeper knowledge that would take their relationship with God to the “next level.”

But in this passage, Paul reminds them that they are already complete in Christ.

Because of what God accomplished on the cross, triumphing over the powers of darkness, they do not need to search elsewhere for spiritual fullness. Instead, they are called to live in the freedom and victory that Christ has already won for them.

Join us tomorrow morning at 11AM! We would love to see you.

As we come to Galatians 3, Paul reaches the heart of his message and his defense of the gospel of grace. To confront the false teachers, he meets them on their own ground, the Old Testament.

They held Moses and the Law in the highest regard, viewing them as the ultimate standard for a faithful Jewish Christian and religious life. Yet Paul points them back to Father Abraham to show that God has always justified people on the basis of faith, not works of the Law.

Join us as we learn from the Apostle Paul why the gospel of grace is far better than the Law of Moses and why faith in Christ alone is sufficient for salvation, righteousness, and the promise of the Holy Spirit.

The Greek word hypokrisis referred to a stage actor, someone who wore a mask and pretended to be someone they weren’t. That’s where we get our word hypocrisy.

As followers of Christ, we aren’t called to put on a mask on Sunday and live differently Monday through Saturday. Hypocrisy can destroy our testimony and undermine the truth of the Gospel.

As Paul closes Galatians 2, he confronts hypocrisy head-on and reminds us that the Gospel is about grace, not performance.

Are we living out the truth of the Gospel, or simply wearing the mask?

Wherever God’s truth is sown, the enemy will try to sow a counterfeit.

That’s exactly what Paul was facing in Galatia. False teachers were leading believers away from the freedom of the true gospel and back into legalism.

So Paul takes us to a pivotal moment in Jerusalem, where the gospel of grace he preached came under attack.

Join us as we make our way into Galatians chapter two, to see how fiercely Paul fought to preserve the truth of the gospel and why that same truth still matters today.

When I was in college, I took a class on the history of advertising. I had no idea how much money, research and science went into it! In 2006, the United States alone is estimated to spend $511.2 billion on advertising. Of that massive investment, the total sales activity stimulated by advertising will be in excess $10.4 trillion!

This seems like a very lucrative industry. The advertisement industry is always changing and adapting to help position their clients to win customers and establish a loyal customer base.

One of the strongest and most successful advertising strategies that companies use to get customers is the good old fashioned personal testimony. “If this worked for them, then it can work for me.”

As we, close out Galatians 1, the Apostle Paul is seeking to win the hearts of the Galatian believers back to the Gospel of Grace.

What can we learn from Paul, as he uses his personal testimony, as powerful evidence of the transforming power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ?

I am fascinated by many things. One of those things is the built environment. I love architecture. I love engineering marvels, I love design and I am fascinated with how all of these things come together.

One thing that every building has in common is a foundation. A building is only as strong as its foundation. If a foundation is weakened, damaged or compromised that building won’t last the test of time.

This is true of the Christian life. The foundation of the Christian life is God’s amazing grace. It is not what man can do for God but what God has done for man. In his great love, God sent His Son to save sinners. Grace is the foundation on which the believer stands. If a believer can be moved from their position of grace, it can destroy their life.

This is what was happening to the Galatian churches. They were in danger of being moved from their position of grace.

What can we learn from the Apostle Paul as he seeks to shore up the foundation that the Galatian believers built their faith upon? What can we learn from Paul’s warning of the consequences of those who abandon the faith?

How incredible, how awesome, how profound is the grace of God! Grace is God’s unmerited, undeserved favor. It is the foundation of the Christian life and the Christian experience.

Yet, it is also one of the hardest truths for believers to fully grasp—that salvation is entirely the work of God, not man.

This was the struggle of the Galatian believers. They were quick to turn from faith in Christ alone and began seeking to earn their standing before God through their own works.

For nearly 2,000 years, the book of Galatians has preserved and proclaimed the simple, life-changing message of the gospel: we are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.

Join us as we begin our study of Galatians 1, where Paul writes as a spiritual father to his spiritual children, defending his apostleship and clearly proclaiming the gospel he was called to preach.

The Christian life is not easy.

Jesus gave no illusion that He was calling his followers to an easy life. In fact, he warned them that the Christian life is not for the faint of heart.

The Bible describes the Christian life as a battleground, where there are many dangers, adversaries and temptations looking to stop the plan and purpose that God has for the believer. The enemy of our soul can’t rob an individual of their salvation but he can render them from being fruitful for the kingdom.

What can we learn from Joshua 1 on how the Lord prepared Joshua to live victoriously in the battle.
