Shepherd of the City Lutheran Church A Historical, Confessional, and Liturgical member of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod located in the center of Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Shepherd of the City Lutheran Church is a member congregation of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod

Along with the historic Christian church we confess the three ecumenical creeds, namely:

Apostles Creed
Nicene Creed
Athanasian Creed

As members of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, we believe:

That Scripture is the inspired word of God and as such is the only authority in

matters of faith (Sola scriptura)
We are saved by the blood of Jesus Christ by grace (Sola gratia)
That we are justified through faith, not works (Sola fide)

The Lutheran Confessions [www.lcms.org/page.aspx?pid=414] are found in the Book of Concord of 1580, a collection of the confessional documents of the Christian faith and the Lutheran reformers. The basis for all documents in the Book of Concord is Scripture, God's inspired Word.
