And learned a new song!

POV: You came for coffee hour and left with:

โ˜•๏ธ a sense of belonging
โ˜•๏ธ a committee chair position (congrats!)
โ˜•๏ธ opinions about native plants you never knew you had

Whatโ€™s the most โ€œUU thingโ€ youโ€™ve left coffee hour with?

Looking forward to this Saturday!

Looking forward to this Saturday!

Public School Belonging Day is coming to Fort Wayne! ๐Ÿ’œ

Join us Saturday, May 2, 2026 for a community-centered day of inclusion, encouragement, and support for local public school students and families.

This event is built around one simple message:

Every child belongs in public school.

Students of every faith, no faith, background, identity, and family structure deserve to feel welcomed, respected, and supported in their public schools.

Weโ€™ll be putting empathy into action with:

๐Ÿ’œ Belonging Bags for local students
๐Ÿ’œ A community Belonging Wall
๐Ÿ’œ Encouragement notes for kids and families
๐Ÿ’œ Family-friendly activities
๐Ÿ’œ Local resources and community connection
๐Ÿ’œ Giveaways and support from amazing local partners

This event is brought to you by Secular Education Association and supported by a grant from the American Humanist Association through The American Empathy Project.

We are so grateful to the local organizations, businesses, and community partners helping make this day possible.

The Search Team and the Board of Trustees are happy to announce that on March 25, we matched with our #1 ministerial candidate! We would like to introduce you to your new minister for the next three years, Rev. Ryan McCray Ely.

Ryan brings a wealth of experience that is fairly unique in ministry. Ryan completed his internship at the UU church of Annapolis and clinical pastoral education with Howard University at the Prince Georges County Correctional center. Ryan is also a recent graduate of the Iliff School of Theology and is in preliminary fellowship with the Unitarian Universalist Association. Prior to the ministry, Ryan spent more than a decade in federal and military service, in addition to time as a barista, bartender and EMT. Ryan will be ordained later this month on April 26.

Our arrangement with Rev. Ryan is unique to the UU world. We are exploring a creative partnership between continents, as he will come to us 21 weeks a year from his home in Brazil. He will also deliver 7 services a year remotely, placing him in our pulpit the same number of Sundays as we contracted with Rev. Mandy. We are confident in embarking on this cross-continent adventure and know that we have the full support of both our Regional and National UUA staff.
