From time to time, we all feel as if we’ve hit the dungeon—a new low in our lives—and are confined by chilling isolation. Maybe that’s you today. Maybe you, like Joseph, have been the recipient of false accusations. Or maybe something entirely different is weighing down your weary soul. No matter what, the Lord knows. He’s never been taken by surprise, and He loves you with an everlasting love. Take comfort in knowing that, as the prophet Zechariah declared, “he who touches you touches the apple of his eye.” (Zechariah 2:8)

Perhaps today you are walking through a hard season in your marriage, with your kids, regarding your job, or in your finances. You are wondering what God is up to and why He is allowing circumstances to play out the way they are. From your perspective it makes little sense, appears totally out of control, and even makes our King seem unmoved, detached, and unkind. Here’s a piece of advice for you today: wait. He knows what He is doing. His ways are not our ways.

Just as the sword produced ultimate justice and God’s purposes to be realized in the story of Solomon and the two women (1 Kings 3:16-28), it is the “sword of the Spirit,” the Word of God, that will also prevail in your circumstance. God’s promises are rock solid. His Word is trustworthy. Rely on the wisdom of our King. Believe and hope in the power of His “sword.” It will all turn out for His glory and your good. But you might have to wait until the end of the story. Take heart. Your story isn’t done being written yet.

We're are living in uncertain times—health fears, political fears, financial fears—on and on it goes. What does the Bible say about fear and anxiety? How can you encourage those you are discipling with the hope that faith in Jesus brings into our everyday lives?

Join us for this in-person discussion on how to overcome the fear and anxiety that so often plague our lives. This discussion is open to anyone. So invite your friends or anyone you think would benefit from biblical teaching on this topic.

Choosing a faith response gives God the opportunity to display His power. When you see His power in action, your faith is built up. And it gives God the chance to work in and through you to accomplish His purposes.

What are you going to choose today – fear or faith? How will you please God today?
