Obituary
Leonia Holloway, 79, of Fort Wayne, went to be with Jesus on Thursday, August 6, 2026. Born February 12, 1947, in Terry, Louisiana, to Sam and Lucy Ann Toston, she united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Knoris Edward Holloway, who preceded her in death on June 3, 2023.
Leonia had a servant’s heart and enjoyed helping others whenever she could. As a member of the Eastern Star, Daughter of Isis, and the Nurses Guild at her church, she had a special gift for bringing out the best in people. Because of this quality she possessed, she was a wonderful friend to many and spent much of her life teaching and training others.
Leonia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Knoris; and nine siblings, Glendora, Glenice, Bobbie Nell, S.M., Sylvester, Rosa Marie, Edward Ray, Lucille, and infant sister Linda Faye, but her greatest joy was always her family. Culminating with the birth of her surviving daughters Veronica LeAnn and Victoria Marie Holloway, she loved her children fiercely and cherished her grandson, Devon Knoris Holloway. She is also survived by her four siblings Julia (Roosevelt) McDaniels, Jerry Toston, Charles Toston, and Janice Toston.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Pilgrim Baptist Church, 1331 Gay St., Fort Wayne, IN 46803. A celebration of Leonia’s life will follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at Covington Memorial Gardens, August 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
