Thank you to everyone for your continued generosity to support the mission and ministry of SBL. Last night was our revamped Auction. Part of the auction, as advertised, was the special "Fund-a-Cause" appeal. This is where every $1 given becomes, in reality, $3 that benefits the ministry of SBL. We have a goal of $23,800 (as set by The Lutheran Foundation). As of this morning we are about $4900 short of our goal. The deadline for this campaign is Monday morning, May 24. If you have already participated in "Fund-a-Cause" this year we praise and thank God for you! If you haven't had the opportunity to do so yet, here are two easy ways you can participate. First, you can place your contribution in the Offering Plate this weekend in worship services - kindly mark it "Fund-a-Cause" so we know it is designated for this. Second, you can contribute electronically via push-pay. Simply text the word "suburbanblc" to 77977 and follow the brief instructions via the link provided. Make sure to mark it for "Fund-a-Cause."

Bottom line: we praise and thank God for you. Your participation in the ministry of SBL is truly, a tremendous gift. Every gift received is a truly a treasure because it comes from a heart redeemed and loved by Jesus. Thank you!

Church Services are still on, but travel wisely.
We have made the decision we will still have church services today for those who are able to make it. However, only travel wisely if you are able. Road conditions are not the best. Church parking lot is cleared out, but walk carefully.

We will not have the Installation of Congregational Officers today - that will be pushed back to next Sunday. We will also not have Confirmation Class today. Current plans are for the 10:30 service to be live streamed.

God bless each of you as we enjoy this object lesson on forgiveness! (Isaiah 1:18)

Yours in Jesus.....PB

TONIGHT - 7:00 pm Zoom Bible Study on "Tough Questions." Tonight's questions are all about the text of the Bible. What is the difference between Catholic, Jewish, and Lutheran Bibles? Are today's versions (such as the Message, Living Bible, etc.) good translations to use? Do any translations distort God's Word? Also one question about catechisms... Did Martin Luther create the first catechism or did the Roman Catholic Church use catechisms before his? Join us at 7:00 pm. Zoom Meeting ID 567 166 5599 Passcode: Salvation. See you then!

Tomorrow night at 7:00 pm is the next installment of our "Tough Questions" Bible Study. How do we answer the question, “Why God allows evil in this world when He has the power to stop it?" A tough question that leads to other questions about Satan, tragedy and death? Join us for a Zoom discussion, Wednesday, 7:00pm (January 20) or on Sunday (January 24) in the church Fellowship Hall at 9:30. For Zoom meeting, search Zoom.com, and then click on “Join a Meeting” and follow prompts. The meeting ID is 851 114 5849 with passcode: Jesus.
