Dear Messiah Family,

On Monday, for the first time in 30 years, Karla Williamson will not be there to answer the phone, greet guests, and coordinate the sometimes chaos that is our church office at Messiah. Karla has been a faithful member of our team for 30 years, and Monday is the first day of her retirement. This Sunday we will celebrate her with a liturgy of farewell and godspeed at both services, along with a meet and greet time of “Kupcakes with Karla” in the narthex between services. See, she hasn’t even retired yet and we’re already making typos, spelling things wrong. 🙂

This week Karla showed me her “Smile File,” the collection of notes, cards, and words of encouragement she’s saved during her tenure here. Let’s make that file a lot bigger Sunday! Bring cards, share memories, and love!
