We as Lutherans build our lives on Jesus Christ. We believe our lives—today, tomorrow, and in eternity—depend on Jesus. We believe Jesus is the only, perfect, Son of God and that He died for every person in the world, rose from the dead, and lives for all people who believe in Him as their Savior. Because of Jesus Christ, we live with a sure hope of eternal life.

We know we're not perfect, we stumble and fall in our daily walk with God. But we also know that our forgiveness has been won and paid for by Jesus Christ, and when we repent and seek forgiveness, God forgives us because of Jesus. We want to tell others this good news.

You’ll often hear us refer to three solas (Latin for "alone") as a summary of the faith that gives us hope:

Grace Alone—God loved the world, though we do not deserve His love. He sent His Son to love the unlovely and save the ungodly.

Faith Alone—Jesus has provided for our forgiveness and life; those who hear this promise and believe it, have what it offers. People don't get faith; God gives it as he gives us His promises.

Scripture Alone—The Bible is the only source that shows God's will and the only basis for faith.

Matthew 9:9-13

The Calling of Matthew
As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector’s booth. “Follow me,” he told him, and Matthew got up and followed him.

While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples. When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”

On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’[a] For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

Join us this summer!

This summer, we invite members and guests to join us for several special one-session opportunities:

June 7: Presentation by Chris Yang — Lower Level Ebenezer
June 14: The Story Continues Congregational Listening Session — Gym
June 21: The Story Continues Congregational Listening Session — Gym
August 30: Mission Sunday Presentation — Lower Level Ebenezer

Beginning June 28, we will also offer Abiding in the Vine, a summer Bible study connected to The Story Continues visioning process. This class will explore the Christian life as one rooted wholly in Christ and sustained by His grace. Together, we will consider how discipleship begins not with our effort, but with our Lord’s saving work, and how repentance, formation, and sanctification flow from His mercy.

Abiding in the Vine
