Children’s Ministry Director – Job Description
Position Type: Part-time (5 hours/week)
Reports To: Pastor
Location: Faith United Methodist Church
Position Summary
The Children & Youth Worker supports the spiritual formation of children from birth through
elementary age by providing safe, nurturing, and engaging ministry environments. This role
combines hands-on weekly ministry with light program coordination and community outreach.
The worker partners with volunteers, follows provided curriculum, and helps create a
welcoming, organized, and Christ centered space for children and families.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Nursery Ministry (Sundays)
2. Thursday Evening Children’s Group
Qualifications
A growing Christian faith and commitment to the mission of the church.
Experience working with children in ministry, education, or childcare settings.
Ability to lead small groups of children with warmth, patience, and creativity.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to collaborate with volunteers and church leadership.
Must pass a background check and follow Safe Sanctuary Policy.
Work Schedule
Sunday mornings (nursery)
Thursday evenings (children’s group)
