It’s quiet right now.

Tables are set. Chairs are in place. The room is ready… but empty.

Tomorrow, it fills with leaders, conversations, worship, and expectation.

As we look at this space today, we’re praying—for every pastor, every leader, every conversation that will happen here over the next two days. We’re asking God to meet us, to strengthen hearts, to give clarity, and to move in ways only He can.

PRESSING ON - Looking forward to what God will do.

After being a mobile church for 20 years, MBC moved into a permanent bui...

Church Planting in Faithfulness - The Table Celebrates as Relationships and
Baptisms Increase in Uniontown, Ohio

Throughout the gospel of Luke, much of Jesus’s ministry was done around a
table. This is what first inspired Joey Nigro when he launched The Table, a
church plant in Uniontown, Ohio, in 2021. Since then, much of the church’s
fellowship happens around their own “church table,” from first and third
Sundays hosting lunch, to Super Bowl parties, to Thanksgiving meals. The heart
of this is about coming together. Joey sees firsthand how those connections
deepen those relationships within the family of God.

“Taco Tuesdays” were an event Joey and his wife offered in their own home
before planting The Table as a way of growing community. This gave them their
first glimpse at witnessing strangers become friends and then friends becoming
family. He knew that was what he wanted to offer through a church plant.

Two summers ago, Joey witnessed the first baptism at The Table and celebrated
with six more individuals who went public with their faith through baptism in
2025. “It’s super encouraging to get to do that,” Joey says, “and to see
people whose faith has become that substantial to them.” God’s faithfulness
was on full display as Joey baptized a man who turned around and then baptized
his fiancée.

One highlight that fuels Joey is when he stands in the corner of the sanctuary
or church event and observes the people. As he sees brothers and sisters in
Christ fellowshipping, he recognizes how special that is and God used him to
be a part of that. Joey says a moment like that “fuels the idea that he’s not
done with this thing yet, and that gives me energy, excitement, courage to get
up and do it again.”

What excites Joey about the days ahead at The Table are how people have
stepped into more leadership roles and taken ownership. He’s also encouraged
by the prospect of developing church membership and establishing an elder team
in the days ahead.
