It is important to take time for self care. Not just pampering, chill time, or treating yourself to a vacation, but taking care of your spiritual well being.
There are many leaders, pastors, apostles, etc. that are leading from a wounded place. Everyone encounters trials, tribulations and life's circumstances, but we have to make sure we are not ministering from a place of hurt.
You cannot give what you do not have!!! So if you are empty, running low, or burned out, it's ok to take a break, pause, get yourself together and come back at the appointed time.
Too many times leaders are more concerned with their image, than their actual "being". We know the church jargon, how to lift up holy hands and say all the right things, but in reality, there is hurt, pain, deep rooted issues that have never been dealt with and they not only manifest in your life, but they contaminate others.
Your hurt and pain causes you to minister from a broken place resulting in fragile people being more damaged and wounded from your actions and words.
Some say, you can minister from a broken place and life is never perfect. While that may be true, it is not an excuse to remain the same. God is looking at character, consistency, faithfulness, integrity.
God wants us whole and healed. What good is it to minister to others, operate in your gifts and talents, but you yourself are in need of help.
Learn how to say no. Unapologetically. Know when to say when! Be honest with yourself! This is not about life issues, but rather heart issues.
Seek the help you need. Go.on a fast, deal with the matters of your heart. Deal with the unforgiveness, bitterness, anger, and other fruit that is ungodly.
You will know a tree by the fruit that it bears. Bad seeds do not produce good fruit!!! And we wonder why more people aren't coming to Christ. Why more believers aren't maturing and growing. What's inside comes out!!! No matter how much you try to mask.or hide it, it will eventually come to the surface.
A sore left untreated, doesn't just go away. It becomes infected and potentially spreads and contaminates other parts of the body. It's the same spiritually. When your heart is left untreated, it becomes toxic and can damage other members in the body of Christ!!
Take your medicine. Get before God, go to a professional counselor. Do whatever it takes to get things in order. Examine your fruit before it spoils!!!
