Mazal Tov Rabbi Elliott Tepperman when becoming the next President & CEO of Reconstructing Judaism. May you, and may we all go from strength to the strength.

Exciting news! Today we are thrilled to announce the selection of Rabbi Elliott Tepperman as the next President and Chief Executive Officer of Reconstructing Judaism.

Rabbi Tepperman comes to this role with decades of service to the Reconstructionist movement, including 24 years as the spiritual leader of Bnai Keshet after graduating from Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in 2002. He is a rabbi, teacher, community builder and passionate advocate for the kind of Judaism we are all striving to create: one rooted in tradition, open to question and relentlessly committed to a more just world.

Full press release linked in the comments, and be sure to drop a kol hakavod 🎉 to let Rabbi Tepperman know you're excited to see where this journey leads!

Now on display in the Oswald Memorial Staircase Art Gallery!

On ( ), we gathered honor the lives and legacies of the more than 6,000,000 Jews (11,000,000 total) who were murdered by the N**i regime during the . This year we centered our program on the life and enduring words of Anne Frank through the diary. She kept his young girl in hiding alongside her family in Amsterdam. We viewed the film Anne Frank: a life in hiding, and then in clay, oil, pastels, watercolor, and in the written word, community members from 10-80+ reflected on the themes of *hope* *memory* and the *power of finding and raising our voices*.

Tonight, as we put our menorahs in the window for the first candle of Hanukkah, our collective light is diminished as our hearts turn toward the Jewish community of Sydney, Australia, the students preparing for exams at Brown University, and all whose lives are touched by violence and hatred. During this darkest part of the year, may we stand strong and unafraid, and let our light shine bravely and proudly - a little bit brighter each and every day.

Rabbi Erin quoted in the Inquirer:

At the Center City rally Saturday, Rabbi Erin Hirsh from Glenside said that like Sen. Cory Booker (D., N.J.), who executed a historic marathon speech this week, she thought she could talk for 25 hours about all the wrongs of the Trump administration.
“Everything the Trump administration is doing is morally offensive and indifferent to human life,” she said. “The administration is just not thinking of the citizens as people and is not fulfilling the social contract to care.”
