“The Wedding Banquet” Matthew 22:1-14 Rev Bill Elwell

10/23/2026

Jesus said, “The Kingdom of heaven can be compared to a king who gave a wedding banquet for his son and sent out invitations.”

Imagine the generosity of a king sending out personal invitations. “Come to the banquet…please.. find your place at the table.” But we find every reason…important or not to attend. However the generosity of God to invite us is compelling.

What if we come to worship…as Dallas Willard wrote, “So we can find people to bless!”

Join us this Sunday at 10:00am and find your place among people who love Jesus Christ.

Bishop Holston, Ashley Davis, our Superintendent, and Bishop’s Assistant Jeff Wilson, stopped by on a tour of all the sites touched by last week’s Hurricane. It means so much to us in Fort Walton Beach.

We could use your help Tuesday morning October 13! Our church took no damage at all but leaves and debris are everywhere! It is just minor cleaning and gathering limbs and leaves but many hands make light work. We should be able to knock it out quick! We are hoping to start tomorrow at 10:00am before it warms up.

Dear Church Family,

As we continue to monitor the potential threat from Hurricane Isaias, we want to make sure everyone in our church family has the information they need.

**The church offices will close at noon on Thursday and will remain closed all day Friday and Monday in observance of Columbus Day.**

Please continue to monitor local weather updates and take whatever precautions are necessary to keep yourself and your family safe.

Most importantly, please keep our church family, our community, and everyone who may be affected by the storm in your prayers.

**“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” — Psalm 46:1**

Stay safe, stay informed, and know that you are in our prayers.
