Tuesday, perhaps the most overlooked day of the week. Tuesday is rarely the day we imagine or plan for weddings, championship games, funerals, or dinner with friends. We vote on Tuesdays (including today) but perhaps that’s because we wisely decided there’s ‘nothing better to do’ anyhow.

Tuesdays feel like a mere passageway between “the week just started” and “we’re halfway there.” It’s Tuesday morning and the sun is up, the kids are getting dressed for school, the kitchen is waiting to be cleaned, and the hours ahead might be filled with seemingly unremarkable responsibilities.

But life does not merely pass through Tuesday on its way to someday more real or divine. Even on a Tuesday, life is being lived and God is here. Jesus promises, “Remember, I am with you always,” No less present on Tuesdays than on the days circled on our calendars, though amid the ordinary rhythms he may be harder to recognize.

But look again, search if need be.
Familiar faces, mundane tasks, and the sunlight racing across the floor. Tuesday is not waiting for life to begin. This is life and God stands beside you fully present, what a glorious day indeed. Good morning.
