Christian Conduct

3 “What if some were unfaithful? Does their faithlessness nullify the faithfulness of God?
4 By no means! Let God be true though every one were a liar, as it is written, "That you may be justified in your words, and prevail when you are judged." (Romans 3:3-4)

Let’s get something clear, if one judges the gospel through the actions of its believers then they do not see the whole truth. As Romans 3:10-11 points out, NOBODY is in the perfect way before God, not even believers.

If believers do not always conduct themselves in righteous behavior, this would be no reason to throw away the gospel foundation. The salvation offered by God to the sinner, stands on its own merit regardless of human actions. As verse 4 illustrates, “Let God be true though every one were a liar,”

So, if an unbeliever tries to deflect your presentation of the gospel to them with the argument of what Christians have done historically, acknowledge what they say and point out how Romans 3:10-11 answers that… no one is worthy before the Almighty.

No one is saved by their behavior, because none of us have behaved in a way that is acceptable to God’s standard. We are only saved by His grace, through the death of Jesus Christ.

All believers are on the “sanctification road.” That is to say that God, through the work of the Holy Spirit, is bringing us along to more Christ-like behavior each day. This does not end until we are “glorified” when Christ returns.

Love of God, and love of our neighbor speaks the whole truth. May the LORD bless each day with these two actions as we navigate our way through life and this world.

Richest blessings to you and yours in Christ Jesus.

Amen.

Where Are We in the Law?

“People today want to reinterpret the Bible. They want to deny its authority. Chapters we once believed to be written by God are now said to be written by some rabbi who added it in. Portions of the Scripture that we don't agree with or don't want to abide by, we just shuffle off out of the picture. We reinterpret the verses to say what we want them to say. We say, "Well, that's cultural and it doesn't relate to today," anything at all to evade allowing the Bible to confront us at our time and place in the history of the world.”
- John MacArthur

Today, the Colorado Supreme Court ruled that an American could not be on a Presidential ballot… amazing decision! One that more than likely will be overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court. And that’s how it goes today in this day and age — our Western culture has had a massive loss of confidence in law and a massive loss of confidence in religion. And so, people’s opinions are now being made into laws; laws that get overturned more and more and more. Why? Because man no longer believes in an absolute truth.

For centuries man has come up with opinions, that then became laws or rules, that have been the reason for millions of deaths. The Roman Catholics decided that people should be put to death because the Bible was translated into the King’s English (Tyndale). Jews died because there was a rule or law that claimed they were not a part of a superior A***n race. Millions of fetuses have been aborted because mankind has decided, and put into law, that the mother has that right. I wonder what new horrific law will be made that causes even more death and destruction.

If we do away with an absolute moral law, like many have, we will continue to have more and more chaos and more and more human atrocities. We are endeavoring in our society to have rules without an absolute; and court, after court, after court overturns some other ruling. When you abandon God and when you abandon theology, you abandon truth. And trying to make laws without truth and without an ultimate value is impossible. You cannot build a consistent legal system on philosophical humanism, on a fluctuating, changing principle of what is right and what is wrong. The proof is right in front of us, right now.

But, billions will not see it… and mankind will keep making hurtful laws that will keep killing anyone who disagrees with them, until we do the unthinkable; destroying our own selves in the process.

There is only one hope… Jesus Christ. The God-man who came not to do away with the Absolute Moral Law (the Scriptures) — “BUT TO FULFILL IT.” (Matthew 5:17-20)

What are some of the Laws am I referring to?

“Love the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind and strength.”
“Believe in the One the Lord God actually sent.”
“Confess sin and repent (change).”
“Love your neighbor as yourself… love does not demand its own way.”
“Pray for your enemies.”
“Do not hate, r**e, kill.”
“Help those less fortunate than you.”
“Give more than a person needs.”
“Do not take vengeance on another.”
“Do not stand in judgment.”
“Do not covet the things of this world.”
“Give unto others as you would like others to give to you if the tables were turned.”

Look, if there is no absolute truth, and there is no absolute word, and there is no God who sets the standard, then there can be no real law that assists us in living to the fullest extent. You'll never get people to keep laws that are only judicial guesses. And frankly, I get weary of the fact that people are constantly overturning historical interpretations, things that the church has believed for centuries, throwing them out if they conflict with the evil thought processes of today. The majority want to deny that the Bible is inerrant. They want to say, "Well, you see, there are errors in the Bible,” or, "The Bible isn't really all inspired," or, "It certainly isn't authoritative," or, "It's old-fashioned," or, "Well, you can't take everything it says." And so they redefine Scripture to do what? To fit the sin that they wish to conceal. How bad is it becoming? Well, the CCP is already rewriting the Bible in China… and innocent people are still being massacred for what they believe.

If you don’t believe, then scoff all you like, but make sure you “cover your six” while doing so … because one day, you and your family could be another tragic set of victims over someone’s, so-called, great idea of man-made law based on an opinion or based on hate.

If you don’t believe me, then I challenge you to examine the Scriptures. Jesus Christ is the epitome of the living Word of God, the Absolute foundation for man to live by. And I truly believe that without this Absolute Authoritative Base, there will be no standard of behavior; and we will drift along like the world, without an anchor. We will keep kidnapping, stealing, hating, committing atrocities and eventually take the lives of those who do not believe what we think is right…

… just look at what man is doing right now in the Middle East.

May the Lord richly bless you.

Does the Word of God Truly Reside In Us?

Good morning Brethren and Blessings in the LORD—our God and Savior.

Today’s Scripture: Psalm 1:1-2

“Blessed is the man
who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way of sinners,
nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
but his delight is in the law of the Lord,
and on his law he meditates day and night.”

Let’s focus on two areas here; “Blessed is the man” and “but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.”

In verse 1, I feel we all understand what It means to be “Blessed” by God. It happens in so many different ways, at different times, consecutive in nature and sometimes with great spans of time in between. Description of it is often beyond human words.

However, do we really know about the art of meditating on “his law — day and night?”

First question I have is, “How do we pull off meditation on His Word, ‘day and night?’” Certainly, we don’t carry the Bible around with us all day long - referring to it at each required instance. No, how impractical is that? Our God is not an “impractical” God.

What the LORD is exhorting us to do here is to memorize His commandments; wearing them on our hearts and minds so that we have these “pearls of wisdom” always “at the ready.” Jesus quoted from Deuteronomy more than any other Old Testament book - and here it is written:

“6 And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. 8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.” (Deut. 6:6-8, ESV)

To pull this off … I envision having to restructure our days. We would be wise to pick an early morning time to dedicate ourselves to God in the digestion of His Word and in prayer. I would further say that we would also be wise to treat this as something that must be done!

Why?

Jesus spoke the true words of God. Do we desire to really know Him? This is one of the fundamental steps in doing so. “In Him we have our being.” (Acts 17:28). This consistent effort that we require of ourselves provides the matrix for conversation with Jesus by the Word! He speaks to us —through the Word, in both our minds and hearts, so we can pray. If the Word is in the head we can talk to him anywhere - at anytime.

Secondly, we (only by the power of the Holy Spirit) will be able to keep the adversary and his meddlers at bay! How did Jesus get rid of the devil in the garden? By quoting the word of God. This is the supreme example for us to follow!
Here’s how John Piper articulates this:

“It enables me to punch the devil back; with a force he cannot defeat; to protect my family, friends, church — you must have the sword. He [Satan] is stronger than you and he hates us! We must have the armor of God and His Word, the sword.”

“Blessed is the man
who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way of sinners,
nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
but his delight is in the law of the Lord,
and on his law he meditates day and night.” (Psalm 1:1-2).

What are we saying to God if we do not make this mandatory in our daily walk?

In the Navy, one of the first things I was taught — “No excuses - just do it!”

and the second was, “You will do it, if your life depends on it.”

I believe our spiritual lives depend on the Word being our figurative “oxygenated blood,”streaming to all parts of our souls, in order that we will serve out our purpose — that being to glorify God’s Holy Name!

“3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.
4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.’” (Revelation 21:3-4, ESV)

Just picture in your mind right now… pure, unadulterated, JOY! This is what awaits for us who believe in Christ Jesus.

Imagine the “new heaven and new earth;” in perfect essence!!! So, beautiful that words are not available to pay proper respect to what our new eyes are seeing.

John wrote about it. Commonly we look forward to experiencing that “hope.” But, how do we live that “hope” right now?! How do we incorporate that into the remainder of our earthly days?

We must get creative here. Lets picture it and daydream about It, fueling a fire of desire to enter into His True Glory.

We’ve all seen beauty here on this fallen planet; now let’s take that image and multiply its beauty — a zillion times, until all we can utter is, “Amazing, simply amazing!!!”

Maybe then… we might have just a glimpse of what Christ Jesus was referring to in His revelation to John.

Richest blessings always,

Michael ❤️🙏✝️

Recently I received this text…

“In 1998, 62% of Americans said religion was "very important" to them.

That number has fallen to 39%.

Is faith still important in America?”

What does the Word of God, the real Truth, say?

Proverbs 14:34:

“Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.”

And then;

Acts 10:35:

“But in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him.”

Pray for a revival in this nation. We do not to be on the wrong end of God and His righteous wrath.

Thank you and God bless us all! Amen.

Do you think faith is still important in America?

Another gem from A.W. Tozer:

“THE VOLUNTARY SELLOUT

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: and I give unto them eternal life. —John 10:27-28

Let no one imagine that he will lose anything of human dignity by this voluntary sell-out of his all to his God. He does not by this degrade himself as a man; rather he finds his right place of high honor as one made in the image of his Creator. His deep disgrace lay in his moral derangement, his unnatural usurpation of the place of God. His honor will be proved by restoring again that stolen throne. In exalting God over all he finds his own highest honor upheld.

Anyone who might feel reluctant to surrender his will to the will of another should remember Jesus’ words, “Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin” (John 8:34). We must of necessity be servant to someone, either to God or to sin.… The man who surrenders to Christ exchanges a cruel slave driver for a kind and gentle Master whose yoke is easy and whose burden is light.

The spirit of the carnal mind is an independent spirit. … But a sense of perfect dependence is a grateful guest of the broken and contrite heart.”

Good afternoon again, Brethren!

Christ Jesus came and gave up His Divine, God-like privileges, to minister to those He encountered physically… and now, after rising from the dead that Easter morning… He walks with us in the Spirit, defending the accusations of the evil one, in the presence of the Father. Like Paul said in Romans 8, “What can we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Ro. 8:31). Amen!

He is certainly with us! May we believe this and trust His ways in all circumstances - “the good with the bad.” I always try to remember, God allows both.

Oh, that we truly understand all that this means each day as we battle against the flesh that we are wrapped up in. Adam and Eve succumbed —and the perfect creation from God was “cursed” for evermore, until our Lord returns. “All of creation groans” (Ro. 8:22).

Speaking of Romans 8… one of the most famous verses stands out (of course, it could be debated that all of Romans 8, might just be one of the top chapters in all the Bible!!!).

But, I digress… Romans 8:28:

“28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. (ESV)”

We who believe are all very familiar with this verse. But, what does each person take this to really mean?

For example, let’s take the phrase, “all things work together for good…”

What “good”? Certainly bad things happen to all people in this life (believers and unbelievers). So the “good” cannot necessarily mean things that we may find pleasing in this physical life (although blessings from God permeate this world constantly for “the just and the unjust.” - Matt 5:45). This “good” that the Holy Spirit inspired God to write, must have a more “Eternal” meaning!

I mean, look at Job… most “righteous” man in his geographical area (the land of Uz) according to God (Job 1:1). Yet, God brought (yes, I wrote it!), God brought (God is sovereign in even the most minute measures) what?!….

- [ ] Allowed his family to be murdered
- [ ] Allowed all his possessions to be stolen
- [ ] Allowed disease to totally immobilize him…
- [ ] … temporarily!*

Where’s the “good” in that? How does Romans 8:28 make any sense at all in the context of Job 1? It wouldn’t… unless we see “good” as the eternal, living gift, from God through, “the One HE sent,” Jesus Christ our Lord.

*Ah… but in the end, Job was blessed again - even more - because of his faithfulness (Job 42:12).

Hey! We will suffer! It is written all over the Word (Ro. 8:18, 1 Peter 5:1; 2 Cor 4:17; Psalm 34:19 and John 16:33, to name a few…).

Jesus said all who truly follow Him will pay the price. That’s why He commanded, “pick up your cross [grab your eventual suffering] … let him deny himself [our old self] and follow Me.” (Matt. 16:24; Luke 9:23).

Sure, we suffer in many different ways (persecution for believing and proclaiming, disease, broken-heartedness, anxiety, mental illness, hunger, addiction, etc) but, we understand that the “good” in Romans 8:28, is a home with Jesus in perfect harmony for eternity!!! Amen!

Well worth any price we pay here!!

So, we “run the race!” (running, as we well know, is hard especially towards the end). We “put on the ‘Armor of God’” and we “fight” “against wickedness in the heavenly realms.” Yes, we battle - fighting against Satan’s “schemes” (he and his minions). The adversary inflicts us, wants us to act poorly, with little faith, so he can accuse us before God (like he did at the beginning of the book of Job), every minute of everyday. Satan wants us to dishonor, and thus, debunk, God’s mission for each of us, so he can prove God wrong. He is on a mission to cause believers to dishonor God and de-glorify His Name among the peoples of the earth. He already knows he cannot have our souls — so he inflicts with, sometimes, with horrible events and situations… all under God’s providence (sovereignty).

We are called to battle (Eph. 6:10) for the eternal hope promised by our Triune God, in the name of Christ Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Now look - I’m not saying we don’t already have it - we received our salvation from God because of the faith He so gracefully granted us - through His Son, but … I am saying we will be challenged by the “prince” of this “World System” and we have to navigate through these things each day.

Are we ready this very moment? Ready for the next circumstance - good or bad? Ready for all the moments that will surely come until we are glorified when Messiah returns?

I say again… Are we ready? Are we going to glorify God in all we do, in every circumstance, or not? Are we knowing Christ more and more each day? If you are, that’s beautiful, now get ready to be attacked and inflicted! (Again, look at Job, or Ester, or the Apostle Paul). Did all things “work for the good” for these great people of God (as many understand it)?

No.

Are they now home with the Lord? Most certainly! Praise God!! His “Good” wins!!!

Will we “stand firm” (Eph. 6:11-12) and have our Lord be honored… thus, receiving the “good” promised in Romans 8:28?

Let us pray:

“Lord God, we, your children by the blood of your Holy Son… ask that you will change our hearts (Deut. 30:6). Yes LORD! We plead with you to “circumcise” our hearts. And then LORD, please empower us to imitate the works of our Savior in all we endeavor to do. Grant to us the privilege - that we glorify You in every little thing we do. In the Holy Name of Christ Jesus we pray. Amen.”

Michael 🙏✝️❤️

10/11/2023

Everyone of us will hit physical and spiritual roadblocks at various times in our journeys. Let us keep Romans 8 in our hearts and minds… in particular — 8:28:

“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. (ESV)”

God controls every single detail; has his hand on every event in life—even suffering, temptation, and sin—to accomplish both our temporal and eternal benefit (cf. Deut. 8:15–16).

We must also be “called” for this to be a reality in our lives. In other words, “in Christ Jesus” Romans 8:1. So, what does being “in Christ Jesus,” mean in your life?

Blessings brethren, all the faithful — and God’s richest grace to you and yours.
