The governor has made the following order: All public and private in-person gatherings of more than ten individuals are prohibited. This includes parties, celebrations, religious, or social events, whether they occur indoor or outdoor. At this time, I still believe it is our responsibility to submit to the governing authorities as prescribed in Scripture. I don't believe we're at the place of having to choose whether to obey God or men just yet. They have no asked us to renounce our faith. They've asked us, like all other businesses and organizations, to forgo meeting face-to-face for a short time.

A fellow Church of God pastor shared his thoughts on the matter, and I want to share them with you. He said, "As a Christian and pastor I look forward to gathering for worship every Sunday. I miss not being together for worship. However, if the building was on fire, I would not stay inside and insist we continue worshipping. No, I would instead shepherd my flock to safety. If the building was being swamped by floodwaters or a tornado I would not insist everyone remain in the building, I would encourage them to move to a safe location until the storm passes. If there was an active shooter I would not insist everyone keep their place in their pew, I would have them get to a safe location. As we are in the midst of this current epidemic, I am concerned for the health and safety of my church and my neighbors. Right now social distancing has been deemed the best way to protect the most vulnerable. Not meeting in the building temporarily is not a lack of faith, but love in action. I have faith that God is with us and will help us get through this and if we all work together out of love for our neighbor we will reduce the loss of life for those who are most at risk. I’m willing to sacrifice what I want out of love for my neighbors. And when we are finally able to gather together again we will appreciate it even more."

Continue to read, study, and worship to foster your relationship with God through his one and only Son Jesus Christ. Continue to listen to your favorite speakers and participate in online worship services. Join me in prayer for our country and our caregivers. Pray for those who are sick and those who are struggling with anxiety, fear, and depression. Pray that God's will would be known to each of us, so that we know when we need to obey Him rather than men. Pray that we would take this opportunity to share the hope we have in the resurrection of the dead and coming kingdom of God. We will continue to be His church. If you are aware of a need in our community, please let me know.

Blessings to you all.
Pastor Chris

It is with deep regret that we have decided to cancel services for the next two weeks. We will announce when we will meet again. We encourage each of you to spend time in prayer. Pray for our country. Pray for revival. Pray for healing. We also encourage you to spend time in the Word and in service of your neighbors. We are still the church even if we're unable to meet for a couple of weeks. In the meantime, love God and love people.

We spent some time serving in our community yesterday (3/20). We picked up 20 bags.
