We emphasize those enduring things associated with classical christianity that enable us to know God and make God known, bringing Soldiers and families to God and God to Soldiers and families. Marne Chapel Traditional Protestant Service Mission Statement
As an expression of the church in the Army we exist to glorify God by enjoying Him through our continued service to our Nation. We are a mature
and growing congregation learning to live our faith in Christ together. The cornerstone of our fellowship is the good news of Jesus Christ who died on the cross for our sins, was buried and on the 3rd day rose again. We believe that we are saved by God’s grace alone through faith in Christ alone to the glory of God alone. We believe that the scriptures of the Old and New Testament are God’s infallible and inerrant Word providing the only standard for Christian faith and practice. This is a church that sees all people created in the image of God, fallen in sin and need of God’s grace and mercy, to include our pastors. This church affirms God’s good, created order in marriage and family and freedom. In this day people need just a little bit of hope and healthy connection to God and to one another. It is our joy to provide an opportunity for Chrisitan encouragement, not just on Sunday, but throughout the week as we trust God and faithful use our gifts. We emphasize those enduring things associated with classical, biblical Christianity that enable us to know God and make God known, bringing Soldiers and families to God and God to Soldiers and families. We believe that every member of the church has been given gifts by God to be used in faithful service. We are a church learning to be faithful with the gifts He has given us. Gifts of music, leadership, administration, teaching, evangelism, preaching, faith, and hospitality to name a few. As a body we are seeking to grow in grace and develop in service to the glory of God. What our worship is like:
We emphasize those enduring things associated with classic Christianity. We approach God in a structured way that gives freedom of movement, involving the movements of praise and adoration, invitation and recitation of the faith, followed by confession, offering, welcome, public readings of the Scriptures, intercessory prayer, and preaching. We seek to emphasize the big picture of Scriptures by using every week a reading from the Old Testament, another from the Psalms, then the Epistles, and the Gospel. We celebrate communion once a month. We follow the seasons of the church calendar, which are based on the life of Christ. We use signs and symbols in our worship to reflect the central ideas of the faith
-altar speaks to the sacrifice of Christ on our behalf that saved us from sin, death and hell
-bible on altar-reveals to us God’s guidance and intent
-liturgical color for the season-high light themes connected to the life of Christ and His church
-recitation of the Apostle creed, the earliest written Christian statement of faith, recorded in the mid 200’s AD
-praying the Lord’s prayer every week
Our worship through song is made up primarily Hymns but some contemporary songs on occasion. We are family and community orientated - child and adult school provided after each service.
