From its earliest days, the church understood that God had revealed Himself as both unity and diversity. God is one. Nothing could be clearer in Scripture. But God is also three: the names, works, attributes, and honors of God are shared by the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The doctrine of the Trinity is essential to Christian theology and a defining doctrine of orthodoxy. Thus, we confess that the three persons of the Godhead are “the same in substance, equal in power and glory” (WSC Q.6). Trinity Sunday has been celebrated in the Christian church since the tenth century. Join us this Sunday as we celebrate Trinity Sunday.
