Friends
Ash Wednesday seems like a good time to post this. All things in this life are temporary. We are but dust and to dust we return.

We are sad to say that this labyrinth will be closed soon.
The land our labyrinth is on has been sold. It is good news overall for the community as the new construction and continued business presence is wonderful and it's good news for our partners at 1st Presbyterian, who will be able to use the funds for their ministries. We thank them for generously letting us use the lot for the last few years, but this sale means we will not be able to continue offering this space.
We encourage you to visit the small path at Riverfront Park built in honor of our friend Allen Warren and we hope we may find some space nearby to recreate a larger path sometime in the future. Current estimate is the lot at 3rd and Crawford will be cleared at the end of February, 2026 for construction to begin - so you are free to walk while it remains, but we've only got a couple weeks at most.
Blessings on your journey!

The construction flags have been removed and the newly expanded walking labyrinth is OPEN! Call it a soft open as there is still a lot of cleanup, tweaking, and fine tuning to do but all 11 circuits (paths) are marked and walkable. Enjoy!

The expansion is well underway. Entrance and center roughed in along with all the turns at the top and left side. Paths will be over 2 feet wide, much nicer to walk.

Exciting news. We are gearing up to reconfigure the labyrinth to make the paths wider and thus easier to walk! We will expand it from the current 40’ to around 70’ diameter, so the paths will be about 2’ wide.
Watch for updates!

We are excited to welcome a clergy group from Erie, KS to our Labyrinth later this month! Have you walked ours or the new small 3 circuit (and fully accessible) path installed by the Park Board in memory of Allen Warren at Riverfront Park yet? Now that the weather is cooler, it's a great time to do so!

Official announcement from FSACF about the new, accessible walking labyrinth at Riverfront park! We are happy to have helped spark this idea and are thrilled with how it turned out!

Another grant project is complete! Fort Scott Bourbon County River Authority used their grant funds awarded last fall to complete a walking labyrinth at the Riverfront. Labyrinths are used world-wide as a way to encourage meditation and stress reduction. We are excited to see this enhancement at the Riverfront to benefit the health and well-being of our Bourbon County residents. Don't forget - applications are now being accepted for the next grant cycle and applications are due August 31!

Jerry Witt and the park board have done a great job with this new addition off the walking path at Riverfront Park. A square pattern walking labyrinth that is fully wheelchair accessible! Like the more complex “Chartres” design at 3rd and Crawford, this is a single path to the center. A bit more work to do (filling in form trenches, etc.) but it is usable now! It will be dedicated and a sign added soon!

Something new is coming to Riverfront Park’s walking trail!More Details soon!
