🌿 April at First Congregational — From Holy Week to Easter Hope 🌿

April leads us along the sacred path from reflection to rejoicing, from the shadow of the cross to the light of resurrection. It is a month that reminds us that even after sorrow, hope still rises.

✨ A Word from Our Pastor
This month’s message reflects on Easter not only as something we remember, but as something we live. Where is God bringing new life, fresh courage, and quiet renewal among us? It is a beautiful invitation to look for resurrection hope in everyday life.

🌸 Worship, Fellowship & New Life
April brings Holy Week, Easter Sunday, the beauty of Easter lilies, and the joyful close of our Lenten offering for local missions. There is also a special Annual End of the Year Fellowship Luncheon later this month, a lovely chance to gather around the table together.

📅 Annual Meeting
Please plan to stay after worship on Sunday, April 12 for our Annual Congregational Meeting. We will hear reports, receive the proposed budget, elect officers and board members, and tend to important business in the life of the church.

🐾 Community Outreach

🌿 March at First Congregational — A Season to Renew & Reach Out 🌿

March carries us deeper into Lent, a season not only of reflection, but of intention. What might it look like to give something up… and add something meaningful in its place?

✨ A Word from Our Pastor
This month’s message introduces a simple but powerful Lenten practice: 3:1:1. It’s thoughtful. It’s practical. And it just might reshape your season in ways you don’t expect.

🤝 Loving Our Neighbors
Our special Lenten offering continues, supporting local missions right here in Fort Pierce. And our Community Outreach focus for March is something simple, tangible, and needed. You can read how to be part of it in the full newsletter.

🍀 Fellowship & Gathering
• St. Patrick’s Day Potluck — Sunday, March 15 (yes, there will be corned beef!)
• Passover Seder — Saturday, March 28, 1–4 p.m. (a meaningful Christian retelling of the Passover story with a shared meal)
• Stewardship season begins as we prayerfully consider how we support God’s work together.

There’s also news about upcoming worship themes, Easter preparations, and our Annual Meeting in April.

🌿 February’s Quiet Kindness & Lenten Paths, Church Family 🌿
February arrives softly, like a candle lit in a quiet room. It’s a month of compassion, remembrance, and small acts of care and love, touching lives in ways we may never see. At First Congregational Church of Fort Pierce, we step into this season together—with open hands, open hearts, and a place at the table for everyone.

✨ A Word from Our Pastor
Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, February 18—a time for reflection, sacrifice, and renewed purpose. This year, we are invited to give not just something up, but something back, as a special Lenten offering supports local missions right here in Fort Pierce.

🧴 Serving with Dignity
Our February outreach focuses on the Dignity Shower Ministry, which provides showers, clean clothing, meals, and support to neighbors experiencing homelessness.

🍞 Building Community at the Table
We’re beginning a church recipe book, inviting everyone to share favorite dishes from potlucks and gatherings. It’s one more way to turn shared meals into shared memories.

May this month bring you quiet strength, generous hands, and the warmth of a caring community.

Christmas does not belong to a single day on the calendar.
Its song lingers. Its light remains. Its promise endures. ✨

Our 2025 Christmas Cantata was presented a little later than planned due to a family emergency our beloved Music Director needed to attend. We are grateful for the patience, prayers, and understanding shown during that time.

This past Sunday, January 11, 2026, our choir lifted their voices in celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior. And truly, it is never too late to proclaim that good news.

Now presenting our small but mighty choir, offering their hearts and voices in praise.
May this music bless you as it blessed us. 🎶✝️

🌅 January Beginnings & Quiet Hope, Church Family 🌅

A new year arrives not with fanfare, but with possibility. January gives us space to breathe again… to reflect… and to ask what love, kindness, and faith might look like in the months ahead.

At First Congregational Church of Fort Pierce, this season invites us to begin again together.

✨ A Word from Our Pastor
In this month’s newsletter, Rev. Joel Reif reflects on the gift of new beginnings—not as pressure-filled resolutions, but as grace-filled opportunities. January becomes a reminder that God’s forgiveness and love always make room for another chance to get it right.

🎶 Worship & Music
While the Christmas season draws to a close, the music continues. On Sunday, January 11, our talented musicians will share a special program celebrating the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord—a meaningful moment marking the start of Christ’s public ministry.

🧥 Serving with Compassion
Our focus on warm clothing donations continues into January. Even in sunny South Florida, warmth can mean dignity, safety, and care for those in need. A small act can make a real difference.

🎄 December Light & Hope, Church Family 🎄

December arrives wrapped in quiet wonder. Candles glowing a little brighter, familiar hymns rising again, and hearts gently turning toward hope. It’s a season that invites us not to rush, but to pause… to listen… and to remember the love that came into the world in the simplest of ways.

This month at First Congregational Church of Fort Pierce, that spirit of love and welcome shows itself beautifully in worship, fellowship, and service to others.

✨ A Word from Our Pastor
In this month’s newsletter, Rev. Joel Reif reflects on the many traditions of Christmas and reminds us that no matter how we celebrate, we are called to pause and reflect on God’s love—and how we can share that love with a world deeply in need of hope. His message is a gentle invitation to slow down and let the meaning of the season sink in.

🎶 Worship & Music
December is filled with meaningful moments in worship, including special Christmas music during our regular Sunday service and the joy of gathering together in this sacred season.

🍁 November Blessings, Church Family 🍁
November has a way of slowing us down just enough to notice the goodness woven through our days — the familiar faces on Sunday morning, the small kindnesses we give and receive, and the quiet ways God carries us through every season. As the air shifts and the holidays draw near, this month invites us to pause… to breathe… and to remember what truly matters.

It’s a time for gratitude, yes — but also a time for connection. A time to gather, to give, and to prepare our hearts for the hope that Advent brings. And as a church family, we have several beautiful opportunities to live that out together.

🎁 Sharing Joy Through Toys for Tots
Throughout November, we’re collecting new, unwrapped toys for children across St. Lucie County. If you’re able to give, your generosity will help bring Christmas joy to a family who needs it most. Donations are welcome through December 7, and every gift is a blessing.

🎄 Preparing Our Church for Advent
If you enjoy Christmas decorating — or simply love spending time with your church family — we’d be delighted to have you join us on Saturday, November 29 at 10 a.m. as we transform our sanctuary for the season. It’s always a warm, spirited morning filled with laughter and holiday cheer.

🎉 Celebrating 40 Years Together
This month, we celebrate a milestone: 40 years of First Congregational Church of Fort Pierce. Join us for a joyful anniversary potluck on Sunday, November 9 right after worship. Come share a meal, a memory, and the blessings God has poured over this church for four decades.

⛪ Worship & Fellowship
We gather in faith each Sunday at 10:30 a.m., with coffee and fellowship at 11:30 a.m. Our doors — located at 3601 Kirby Loop Road, Fort Pierce, FL 34981 — are open to all. If you have questions or need assistance, feel free to call the church office at (772) 465-2082. Whether you’ve been with us for years or are thinking about returning, know this: your presence matters, and you are deeply welcome here.

🍂 October: A Season of Gratitude & Gathering 🍂

As autumn brings change and harvest, our church family continues to grow in love, fellowship, and service — even while Pastor Reif is away on his well-deserved vacation. Though he’s not with us part of this month, his words remind us to gather the fruits of our faith: gratitude, kindness, patience, and love. May our hearts be fields ready for God’s blessing.

🥫 Community Outreach – Food Bank Drive

This month’s outreach is focused on helping our neighbors facing food insecurity. We’re collecting nonperishable and holiday meal items such as:

Canned vegetables, beans, corn, sweet potatoes
Instant potatoes, rice, gravy, biscuit mixes
Cranberry sauce or shelf-stable milk

Please bring extra donations throughout October — they’ll be delivered to the Treasure Coast Food Bank in November to support families during the holidays. Your generosity plants hope.
