Parkview Baptist Church Ft. Pierce

Parkview Baptist Church Ft. Pierce Sunday Schedule: Bible study at 9:30 AM and worship at 10:45 AM. Wednesday: Prayer group at 5:30 PM. It's all about Jesus.

At Parkview, it's not about clothing, style, position or finances. Parkview is the Southern Baptist church in downtown Fort Pierce, across from Pinewood Park, where we have been ministering since 1925. We believe that God speaks to us through His Holy Spirit through His Word. Sermons are Bible-based, and we lift up the name of Jesus as our Lord and Savior. We seek to live lives in His power in lov

ing obedience to Him. We welcome you here, and want Parkview to be a safe place for your Christian journey as we grow in Christ together.

Peace. We talk about it, we long for it, but let's be honest—some days it feels like a whisper we can't quite hear over the noise of life. Our minds race, relationships get messy, and worries keep us up at night.

But Psalm 34:14 doesn't tell us to simply wish for peace—it calls us to actively pursue it. Like a treasure we can't afford to lose.

This means peace isn't just a feeling—it's a choice. A daily decision to walk away from bitterness and step into God's presence. It's choosing prayer over panic, grace over grudges, and trust over control.

And here's the beautiful truth: peace isn't found in perfect circumstances—it's found in a Person. Jesus, the Prince of Peace, is the One who quiets our storms and settles our anxious hearts. When we chase after Him, we discover that peace isn't something we have to manufacture—it's something He freely gives.

So today, don't just wait for peace to find you—chase after it. Let it shape how you love, how you forgive, and how you trust. Because when we pursue peace, we're really pursuing Him. And that's where true peace begins.

Dear God,
Thank you for the gift of today. I know that Jesus will return, but only You know when. Help me to live each day with joy, purpose, and a heart ready to welcome Him.

Fill my heart with your love and grace, so that I may live a life that honors you. Empower me to share your hope with a hurting world, using every moment as an opportunity to spread your love.

May I not be caught up in the distractions of this world, but instead, may I focus on what truly matters - Your kingdom and Your glory. Help me to be ready, not perfect, but prepared to meet you with open arms.
In Jesus' name, Amen.

God of new beginnings,

Sometimes I focus so much on what was or what could be that I miss what You're doing right now. Forgive me for mistaking Your silence for absence. Open my eyes to see the small sprouts of hope You're growing in my wilderness.

When I'm tempted to just endure this season, help me engage with it instead. Show me the purpose in this path. Transform my waiting into worship, my confusion into curiosity about what You're creating.

Thank You for making streams in my wasteland places, even when I can't yet see them flowing.

— In Jesus' name, Amen.

Happiness isn’t a matter of luck. It’s a matter of learning! To live a happier life, you need to learn how to work well with others.

I call this the skill of collaboration. It’s an important skill not often taught in schools; but when learned, it can exponentially increase a person’s happiness.

What do you need to learn in order to work well with other people?

First, learn to cooperate with others. In the Bible, the church in Philippi sent a man named Epaphroditus to help Paul while he was in prison in Rome. Philippians 2:25 says, “I feel that I must send Epaphroditus—my brother, coworker, and fellow soldier—back to you. You sent him as your personal representative to help me in my need” (GW).

By calling Epaphroditus his brother, coworker, and fellow soldier, Paul was using three relational metaphors that represent teamwork. Life together is a family, a fellowship, and a fight. Epaphroditus didn’t shut himself off from the world and become a lone ranger. He chose to be a team member in these three ways.

As believers, we are in the same fight together against Satan, so we need to cooperate with one other—no matter how different we are. The best place to learn how to do that is in the church.

Second, learn to be considerate. Paul mentioned Epaphroditus again in Philippians 2:26: “He has been longing to see all of you and is troubled because you heard that he was sick” (GW).

Notice how Paul used two examples of consideration: Paul was considerate of his coworker’s homesickness, and Epaphroditus was considerate about the Philippians’ concern.

When you learn to be considerate of other people’s needs, fears, and doubts, you’ll be a happier person. For instance, if you are considerate of your spouse, you’ll have a happy marriage. But if you’re not thoughtful with your words and actions, you’ll have an unhappy marriage.

The Bible says in The Message paraphrase, “You must get along with each other. You must learn to be considerate of one another, cultivating a life in common” (1 Corinthians 1:10).

Cultivating a life with a common goal of Christlikeness takes work. Like a garden that requires cultivation to bear fruit, you’ll see how your effort bears the fruit of happiness and strong relationships.

“If the Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from death, lives in you, then he who raised Christ from death will also give life to your mortal bodies by the presence of his Spirit in you.” Romans 8:11 (GNT)

God never promised that life would be fair. Heaven is where everything is done God’s way; life on earth just doesn’t work like that. We live on a broken planet.

But what happens on earth isn’t all there is to life.

You’ll spend 60, 80, or maybe 100 years on earth. You’ll spend trillions of years in eternity. If you’ve placed your faith in Jesus, the Bible says you’ll spend eternity with God in heaven.

That’s one of the most important reasons Christians should be joyful—God has given us eternal life!

And eternity will be amazing.

What will heaven be like? You’ll be reunited with people you love. You’ll get rewards. You’ll rest. You’ll get responsibilities you love.

And, as Romans 8:11 says, you’ll get a new body. That’s one of the things I’m most excited about in heaven—no more decaying old body.

You were created because God wants a family. He wants to spend eternity with his family. He wants to spend eternity with you and me! And that truth can bring you great joy.

Have you ever noticed how one anxious thought can hijack your whole day? You wake calm, then a single "what‑if" about money, that relationship, or tomorrow's meeting cuts in, and by noon you're drained—battles fought entirely in your head.

Paul called that a mind "governed by the flesh"—like trying to grow roses in dry sand. But hand the garden gate to God's Spirit and everything changes. Lies get uprooted, truth is watered, and peace starts blooming where anxiety once ruled. Same schedule, completely different climate inside.

This isn’t about forcing positivity. It’s about surrender. Each time worry knocks, breathe a simple prayer: "Spirit, tend my mind." You don't need perfect thoughts—just a willing heart. Where the Master Gardener pulls weeds and plants truth, life and peace naturally take root, and anxious vines lose their grip.

Today, give Him full access. Watch Him transform wasteland into beauty.
