Father's Day may be behind us, but fatherhood is bigger than a holiday.

A father's influence isn't measured by one day of celebration—it's measured by a lifetime of showing up.

And not everyone who changes a life is a biological father. Some of the greatest father figures are mentors, coaches, teachers, pastors, uncles, and friends who simply choose to invest in someone else's future.

Who helped shape the person you are today? Take a moment to thank them. Then consider how you might do the same for someone else.

Keep showing up. Keep encouraging. Keep investing.

Your influence may last longer than you realize.

Everybody wants community… until people start acting like people.

Through a simple table illustration, we explored how relationships rarely stay as neat and organized as we'd like them to be. People spill the tea. They show up late. They bring their own baggage, wounds, opinions, and struggles. Sometimes they frustrate us. Sometimes they hurt us.

But what if those difficult moments aren't interruptions to our spiritual growth?

What if they ARE our spiritual growth?

Maybe the people who irritate us most are revealing parts of ourselves that still need healing.

Maybe community isn't where perfect people gather.

Maybe community is where imperfect people learn how to love.

Because community reveals what isolation hides.

Every generation has its list.

Those people.

The outsiders.

The people who don't belong.

The people we struggle to understand.

The people we assume God couldn't possibly use.

Then Jesus starts eating with them.

Again.

And again.

And again.

One of the great temptations of every generation is deciding who God is for and who God is against.

And then Jesus surprises us.

Maybe the question isn't:

"Who doesn't belong?"

Maybe the better question is:

"Who is Jesus pulling a chair up for?"

And if Jesus is making room at the table, maybe we should too.

Why does Matthew tell us that Jesus went up on a mountain?

Because the mountain matters.

Moses met God on a mountain.

Moses received the Law on a mountain.

Israel was formed into a people on a mountain.

Now Jesus climbs a mountain and begins describing a new way to be human.

Maybe Matthew isn't just giving us geography.

Maybe he's giving us theology.

Maybe he's telling us that Jesus is leading a new Exodus.

Not from Egypt.

But from fear.

From shame.

From scarcity.

From the lies that keep us trapped.

What is God trying to lead you out of today?

Every empire tells us who belongs.

Every empire tells us who is blessed.

Then Jesus climbed a mountain and turned the whole thing upside down.

"Blessed are the poor in spirit..."
