During hard seasons of life, we respond with caring, effective, and

Best Nonprofit in DeKalb County. Three years in a row.

We’re honored to have been voted Best Nonprofit in DeKalb County for 2026.

While we’re grateful for the recognition, what excites us most is what it represents.

Over the past year, we’ve answered crisis calls at all hours of the day and night. We’ve provided food, clothing, medical care, shelter, mentorship, discipleship, and practical support to neighbors facing some of the hardest seasons of their lives.

We’ve watched men move from homelessness to stability. We’ve seen families receive help during moments of crisis. We’ve seen churches, businesses, volunteers, and community partners come together to make a difference.

This award belongs to every person who has given their time, resources, prayers, and support to this mission.

Most of all, it belongs to a community that believes people are worth investing in.

Thank you to everyone who voted for us, supports us, volunteers with us, partners with us, and helps us serve our neighbors every day.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to do this work, and we’re just getting started.

Thank you, Dekalb county, for allowing us to serve.

Jacob came to the Hope House looking for a fresh start. Through hard work, accountability, classes, serving others, and staying committed to the process, he's been taking real steps forward every single day.

The Hope House isn't just a place to stay - it's a place to rebuild. Stories like Jacob's remind us that hope is possible when someone is given support, structure, and people who believe in them.
Thank you to every volunteer, donor, and supporter helping make journeys like this possible.

A vehicle may not seem life changing to some people.

But for us, this van represents opportunity.

A few days ago, we shared that Marked For Life Ministries was gifted a Chevy Express 15 passenger van through the incredible generosity of CityWide Auto Sales. Even now, we still don’t take that blessing lightly.

Since then, this van has already become part of everyday ministry life.

It’s helping carry men to work, recovery meetings, church, appointments, and new opportunities. It’s helping us continue showing up for people who are fighting for a different future.

One thing we’ve learned through ministry is that God often provides through people willing to simply say yes.

And this gift was a huge yes.

We’re incredibly thankful for every person who supports this mission, prays for these men, and believes restoration is possible. There are stories sitting inside this van that only God could write. 🤍

Today we remember the brave men and women who gave everything for our freedom. 🇺🇸

Because of their sacrifice, we are able to gather with family, serve our community, and continue the work God has called us to do every day.

From all of us at Marked For Life, we honor and remember those who will never be forgotten. ❤️

One of the many ways we serve our community ❤️

Each month, we’re able to provide practical services like free haircuts for those who may need a little extra support during a difficult season. Something as simple as a haircut can restore confidence, dignity, and remind someone they are seen and cared for.

Thank you to those who continue to give, volunteer, and love people well through Marked For Life Ministries. It truly makes a difference. ✂️🤍

One of the most meaningful parts of recovery ministry is the relationships that are built along the way. You walk with people through some of the hardest seasons of their lives, and every now and then, God allows you to deeply connect with someone and watch a complete transformation take place.

Taylor is one of those people for us.

A few weeks ago, Taylor graduated from the Adult Education Program at Northeast Alabama Community College and even earned a free college class credit through the course. Watching him walk across that stage was special because our team has had the privilege of watching the hard work, growth, and determination it took to get there.

Taylor first came to us as a student in the Hope House program looking for a fresh start. Over time, we watched him continue to grow in confidence, consistency, and leadership.

Today, Taylor is not only a graduate of the Hope House, but he is also now serving as an employee at Marked For Life Ministries helping others find hope too.

If you’ve called our office recently, there’s a good chance Taylor was the friendly voice on the other end of the phone or one of the first people to welcome you into our center. For many people walking through our doors during difficult seasons, first impressions matter, and Taylor serves people with kindness, compassion, and understanding because he’s lived it himself.

Moments like this remind us why we do what we do.

We are so thankful to be able to offer educational opportunities like these for men in our program who did not graduate high school. Our goal is not just recovery or temporary stability. We want people to leave this program with the tools, confidence, education, and opportunities they need to build a completely different future.

We could not be more proud of Taylor and the man he is becoming.

His story is proof that restoration is possible.

Sometimes the people who walk through our doors to help others end up finding hope themselves ✨

In 2021, Minnie came to Marked For Life during a difficult season of anxiety and depression looking for change in her life. What started as volunteering quickly became so much more.

She shared that she needed Marked For Life more than Marked For Life needed her. Since then, she’s continued faithfully serving and loving others through this ministry.

Hearing her describe this place as feeling ‘like heaven when you walk in the door’ reminds us why we do what we do. A place where people are welcomed, loved, and never walk alone. 💙

Some stories remind us exactly why the Hope House exists.

Last week, we had the honor of celebrating J as he graduated high school.

Not long ago, J found himself homeless and without stability while still trying to finish school. In the middle of uncertainty, he came to the Hope House searching for support, direction, and hope for what was ahead.

Over the past months, our team, local partners, and the men of the Hope House came alongside him to help make sure he could continue his education while also receiving the structure, accountability, and encouragement he needed.

And last night, we watched him walk across the stage.

For many people, a high school graduation is expected. But for others, it represents overcoming obstacle after obstacle just to make it to that moment.

What made the night even more special was seeing the support around him. Family members celebrating. Hope House residents cheering him on. Men who once were strangers now standing beside him like brothers.

This is what restoration looks like.

Not just providing a bed, but helping someone believe they still have a future.

We are incredibly proud of J and excited for what’s ahead as he continues his journey through the Hope House program focused on healing, growth, and building a strong foundation for his future.

Stories like this remind us that hope can truly change the direction of a life.

Every day, our team gathers together to pray, encourage one another, and remind ourselves why this ministry matters so much.

What happens at Marked For Life is bigger than programs, buildings, or meetings. It’s people showing up for people. It’s second chances. It’s hope when someone feels like they’ve run out of it.

You may never fully see the impact your support, prayers, donations, or time have on someone’s life… but lives are being changed every single day because people choose to care 🤍

Some donations truly change lives. This is one of them. 🤍

A huge thank you to CityWide Car Sales for generously donating this Chevy Express van to Marked For Life Ministries.

For many of the men in our Hope House program, this represents so much more than a vehicle. It represents support. Hope. A community that believes their story is not over.

As these men work to rebuild their lives after addiction and homelessness, this gift will help us continue walking alongside them every step of the way.

Thank you for helping us continue to help the hurt when they need it most. 🤍
