Ruth Carolyn Tench Hampton age 82, of LaFayette, GA went home to be with The Lord Tuesday – September 1, 2015. She was born in Greenville, South Carolina to the late John William & Elvie Lee Nelson Tench. She had lived most of her life in LaFayette and was a member of Ridgeview Baptist Church. She was a former employee of Caron Yarn Mill and E.T. Barwick Mills at the Archer Plant. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband: Grady Lee Hampton, son: Ansel Hampton and her brothers: John and Neal Tench. She is survived by her daughter: Sharon Butler of Chickamauga, GA, four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm and Thursday after 11:00 am until the service. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm – Thursday – September 3, 2015 in the chapel with Reverend: Clyde Hampton officiating. Burial will follow at LaFayette Memory Gardens – LaFayette, GA. Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Homes – LaFayette Chapel. Online register book at www.wilsonfuneralhome.com
