Good morning! We wanted to let everyone know that Scott Lynn passed away on Friday, May 29th. Please keep his precious wife Tena and the rest of their family in your prayers. Visitation is today at Wilsons Funeral Home in Ft. Oglethorpe from 4-8 and tomorrow 10:30-11:30 with the funeral service being at 11:30. I have attached his obituary below.

Sergeant Major (US Army Ret.) Scott F. Lynn, age 94, went home to the Lord on Friday, May 29, 2026 at his residence in Rossville, Georgia.
Sergeant Major Lynn, son of the late Jess Lynn and Estelle Eva Lynn, was born in Jackson County, Alabama. He was a faithful member of Parkway Baptist Church. He served his country honorably both in the U.S. Army and U.S. Army Reserve for over 39 years. During his distinguished military career, he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal and numerous other medals and ribbons. Sergeant Major Lynn retired from Combustion Engineering as a welder, and also serviced cars at an “old fashioned, full-service gas station" for many years. He enjoyed fishing; bowling in the Combustion League, where he once bowled a 298 game; and traveling throughout the country and going on cruises with his wife. While at home, many would find him watching Georgia Bulldog football, the Atlanta Braves and classic western shows. He also worked puzzles and listened to Southern Gospel music. The family remembers him as a “true soldier,” and one who was a loving husband and father.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
Sergeant Major Lynn is survived by the love of his life for over 69 years, Tena Lynn; three daughters, Terrie Lynn Tanner, LaDonna (Kenneth) Bradshaw, and Vickie (Robert) Veal; five grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled at the Chapel of W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home, 555 West Cloud Springs Road, Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, 11:30 a.m. with Reverend Robby Dunn officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery, 1200 Bailey Avenue, Chattanooga, Tennessee. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 from 4-8 p.m. and prior to the service on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 from 10:30 a.m. till 11:30 a.m.
