Funeral Services for Rev. Maurice Gilmore will be held at Mt. Olive AME Church in Fort Myers, not at St. Phillip. Please plan accordingly and show your support to one of the great leaders of this community.

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of one of spiritual leaders in our community, the Rev. Maurice Gilmore. Rev. Gilmore was a quiet and gentle man but a giant in his faith and work for the Lord. Please keep his wife and family in your thoughts and prayers.

It is with an immensely saddened heart that we share the passing of one of our most beloved, former pastor and lifelong member Rev. Maurice Gilmore. Please keep the love of his life, Laveta Gilmore and children in your prayers.

Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus, just to take him at his worth. Just to rest upon His promise, just to know “thus saith The Lord.”

I'm so glad I learned to trust Him,
Precious Jesus, Savior, Friend;
And I know that He is with me, and
Will be with me to the end.f
