Hey everyone, Pastor John here from Elevating Life Church in Fort Morgan, Colorado.

This Monday, September 7th, is Labor Day in the United States. Of course, it is a National Holiday and most of us will get a day off of work to celebrate and rest.

But, as followers of Christ, it is important that we keep the proper perspective when it comes to labor. While we may get a paycheck in exchange for our time and effort, that should not be our focus. As Colossians 3:23 says, “Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.”

We will explore what that means and how we are to view our labor this Sunday in the message I’m calling, “The Gift of Work.” I want to personally invite you to come and join us for the Salt & Light Bible Study at 9am and the Worship Service at 10:15am. And please, come as you are because YOU ARE LOVED!!!

Life can get busy. The week gets long. And sometimes we all need a place to pause, breathe, worship, and REFRESH. ❤️

We’re asking our ELC church family:

We’re exploring the possibility of bringing back a midweek time to worship together, grow in God’s Word, connect with one another, and leave refreshed for the rest of the week.

🍂 STOP. BREATHE. PRAY. 🍂

What if, instead of carrying that worry one more minute, you gave it to God?

That situation you keep replaying in your mind.
That conversation you’re afraid to have.
That decision you don’t know how to make.
That burden you’ve been carrying quietly.

Philippians 4:6–7 reminds us: don’t worry about anything—pray about everything.

Not some things.
Not the things we can’t handle ourselves.
EVERYTHING.

God isn’t asking you to figure it all out before you come to Him. He’s asking you to bring it to Him.

So before you keep scrolling… STOP.

Take a breath.
Quiet your heart.
Tell God what you need.
Thank Him for what He has already done.
And then leave your worry in His hands.

Because when we pray, God promises something the world cannot give us:

His peace.

A peace that doesn’t always change the situation—
but changes us in the middle of it.

🙏 Right now, wherever you are, stop and pray.

“Lord, I give You what I cannot control. I trust You with what I cannot understand. Guard my heart and my mind with Your peace. Help me remember that You are with me, You are for me, and You are still in control. Amen.”

Don’t just read the verse today.
Live it. Pray it. Trust it.
