Wreaths Across America, Fort Mitchell National Cemetery

Wreaths Across America, Fort Mitchell National Cemetery Once a year we recognize our veterans by laying wreaths upon their graves in Fort Mitchell. The mission is simple:
Remember, Honor and Teach.

Since 2006, the Worcester Wreath Company out of Harrington, Maine, with the assistance of the Civil Air Patrol and other civic organizations, has helped honor the memories of our service members and their families by placing wreaths on the headstones of those laid to rest at our nation’s national cemeteries. Remember the fallen. Honor those that serve and their families, and
Teach our children the

value of freedom. Every December, the Auburn Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol, along with Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery and other organizations, coordinate to sponsor as many wreaths as possible to ensure we fulfill the promise; but we need your help. The wreaths, like the freedoms we enjoy today, are not free. We rely on the local community to sponsor these hand-made wreaths, and to help us place the wreaths after the ceremony. Please "like" and follow our page to get important updates to the upcoming event, and to keep track and post photos of previous events.

The wreaths are retired!! I'm sad to see them go, but it was time!! Most of them had already started turning brown. Not many community members showed up but those that did were a wonderful help!! We would have been there all day if it wasn't for Mr. Greg Smith and his always helpful VA staff!! Fort Mitchell National Cemetery is the eternal home to many wonderful people and now we have a new Veteran that paved the way for so many!! As soon as I got home, I read her life story!! What a wonderful woman! ❤️🇺🇸❤️

Don't forget!!! Due to the cold weather we'll wait til noon est.

I always hate this part!! But, sadly the wreaths have to be retired!! If you can come participate it would be a huge help and typically doesn't take long. Bring gloves, mop handles, pcv pipe, rakes and things that if you can and we'll be done in no time. Thanks again for all your help throughout the year.!!
