In the Byzantine Catholic Church, we bless ourselves differently than the Roman Catholics. There is great worship in making the sign of the cross. We hold our hand as illustrated here. We bring our thumb, index and middle fingers together. This represents the Holy Trinity. The ring finger and pinky go down to the palm of the hand. This represents the two natures of Christ, His human nature and His divine nature. While we are blessing ourselves in our minds we say while we touch our head, God I give you my mind. We go down to our heart and say, God I give you my heart. Next we go to our right shoulder and say God I give you the things I have done right. Lastly we go to our left saying, God, forgive my sins.
