We come to the Good Friday service in a different posture and frame of mind than we do on a typical Sunday morning. We enter quietly—through reflection, prayer, and humility—preparing our hearts to walk the path that leads to the cross.
This is a solemn gathering. It is a time to slow down and consider the weight of what Christ has done. We linger at the cross, reflecting on the suffering, the sacrifice, and the love poured out for us.
And when we leave, we do so in much the same spirit. We depart in quiet reverence, carrying with us the heaviness of that moment—imagining what it must have been like for Mary, for the disciples, and for all who stood in the shadow of that day. The silence of Friday stretches into Saturday, and we sit in that tension, waiting.
But we do not wait without hope.
For we know that the darkness of the cross is not the end of the story. The sorrow of Good Friday gives way to the light and joy of the resurrection, which will burst forth in glorious triumph on Easter morning.
The service will last approximately 30 minutes and will be held in the old sanctuary.
