For those who may not know, March is Pastor’s Wife Appreciation Month, a time when we are intentional about expressing gratitude for a very special woman in our church. A woman who serves and sacrifices in countless seen and unseen ways every single day: our First Lady, Amanda Frank.
For many of us, the title “First Lady” is new. We’re used to saying “pastor’s wife,” and she is that. But when we first heard the term “First Lady,” it just felt right, so fitting for the woman we have watched, learned from, and served under these past several years.
Because you see…
A pastor’s wife can be found in the pastor’s kitchen, organizing, delegating, and serving.
A First Lady can be found in the kitchen of the church, organizing, delegating, and serving.
A pastor’s wife is the mother of the pastor’s children, teaching them, encouraging them, and covering them in prayerful battles they will never see.
A First Lady is the mother of the church, teaching, encouraging, and covering in prayerful battles we will never see.
A pastor’s wife has a husband with a calling, sharing his time and attention with the Body and the lost.
A First Lady has a calling alongside her husband, choosing to invest her life into the Body and the lost.
A pastor’s wife may be known by her last name, a blessing to her husband.
A First Lady is known by her service, a blessing to the church.
And we are blessed to have a woman of God who walks in both with excellence, our pastor’s wife and our First Lady.
