Most people would like to have greater wisdom than what they have in making important decisions in life. The Bible, God’s Word, gives us some advice on how we can have the wisdom we desire. It is wisdom that enables us to live successfully in life. The Bible comments on the source of real wisdom. “If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.” (James 1:5, niv) We will be considering the wisdom resource all Christians have. Owls are thought of as symbols of wisdom. We will be exploring 1 Kings 3:5-14 and 4:28-34 as we seek “Real Wisdom for Real Success” in life.

We hope that you will join us this Sunday for a meaningful spiritual experience in Bible Study, fellowship, Worship, and Praise in community with other Christians. Sunday School begins at 9:00 a.m. followed by our Worship and Praise service at 10:00. Our church facility is located at 1029 48th Street and we can be contacted by calling (319) 528-8519.

To think of a prophet of God as one of God’s “Super Heroes” is easy to understand as we read through the Bible. But you may never of thought of yourself as one of God’s “Super Heroes”. Yet that is how I think God might think of us as we seek to live for Him. Come and find out why this might be true of your life when like Elisha you put your life in the hands of God and allow Him to direct your choices and ambitions. God’s Word in Proverbs 3:5-6 gives us advice we need to take in order to become one of God’s “Super Heroes. “Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will direct your paths.” (New Living Translation) Elisha’s life is the example we will be considering in Sunday’s sermon. The sermon text will be 2 Kings 5:1-17. If you want to read a little more about God’s Super Hero Elisha grab your Bible and read 2 Kings 1-6. Great story. Great lessons.

Come join us this Sunday. Let God put joy in your life and a smile on your face. Sunday School begins at 9:00 a.m. and Worship and Praise follows at 10:00. Our church facility is located at 1029 48th St. Our doors open about 8:30. And there is a warm caring welcome awaiting you. We can be contacted by calling (319) 528-8519. Hoping to see you there.

Mother’s Day is Sunday and we at the FMCC want to say “Happy Mother’s Day”. What a good day to share the account of a woman of faith named Ruth. Her story is found in the Bible book named after her. Ruth 1:1-18 introduces us to this woman of faith who is a great example for all, not only for women. Young, old, male or female there is something special that we can learn from Ruth’s example. The minister’s message is titled “Making Right Choices” or “Retriever Believers”. Come and learn how Christians are to becme “Retriever Believers”.

When God presents you with a monumental task how do you respond? Answer: “I can’t do that, I’m … to young…too old…too busy…unqualified…not that smart…broke…etc. Or maybe like Elijah your excuse is that you can’t do it all alone, especially facing alone those who strongly oppose you. Your bottom line may also be “I’m afraid”. But the real question is not how qualified you feel but how powerful to perform through you is your God? This week we will come to understand how God can use anyone of us in any situation to accomplish His purposes. We’ll consider the life of Elijah to find out just what God can do in and through any one of us who put our trust more in God than in our circumstances. Our Bible reference will be 1 Kings 19:1-19.

We hope to see you, your family, and or friends this week as we meet together for a time of Praise and Worship. Sunday School begins at 9:00 a.m. and our Praise and Worship service follows at 10:00. The Fort Madison Christian Church facility is located at 1029 48th Street where you’ll find plenty of parking, a friendly greeting, and a warm welcome from the time you enter the doors. For information, please contact us at (319) 528-8519. We’re waiting to meet and share with you this Sunday.

“Live Forever”. People over the ages seem to have been searching for some sort of a “Fountain of Youth”. The only person in all history to have given a proven way to live forever is Jesus. He really lived. He really died. And really came back from the dead to live forever. The Bible tells us that Christians can be certain to live forever when their life is lived as sincere followers of Jesus. We will all live forever and it can be logically proven. That’s the message of this week’s sermon: “Live Forever”. This message will be shared in our 10:00 am Praise and Worship service. Preceding that in our our Sunday School classes at 9:00 we will be considering some various aspects of Jesus’ resurrection from the dead, not only His resurrection but ours as well. We will all live forever. The only thing that needs to be settled by us is where we will spend that forever life, in Heaven or Hell.

Come join us as we celebrate together this Easter Sunday. The church facility is located at 1029 48th St in Fort Madison. There is plenty of off-street parking. But most of all there is a sincere warm and friendly welcome as soon as you pass through the front doors. Of course, if there’s someone in the parking lot when you arrive you won’t have to wait for that warm and friendly welcome. See you in church as we celebrate the risen and returning Jesus. Feel free to call us for information or directions.

If anyone has been thinking and praying about being baptized what better day than Easter. Celebrate Easter and celebrate your new life in Christ on the same day. Give us a call at 528-8519 to talk with us or just show up Sunday to make your decision to follow Jesus as Lord beginning with your baptism. Honestly, any day of the week is the right time if you are ready. Baptism is just a beginning not an end to our spiritual walk. Baptism is meant for anyone who is serious about a commitment to live the Christian life. Check out Mark 16:16 and Acts 2:36-38 in the Bible. We follow the Biblical example of baptizing serious believers by immersion. We’d be happy to visit with you about your decision if desired. Our church facility is located at 1029 48th St in Fort Madison.
