The choir of Royal Lane Baptist Church in Dallas, under the direction of Harry Wooten, did such a fantastic job of my arrangement of the hymn "Holy Spirit, From Heaven Descended" (EXCELSA PALOMA) in their Pentecost worship service this morning that I just had to share!

The term Pentecost comes from the Greek πεντηκοστή (pentēkostē) meaning fiftieth and refers to the festival of Shavuot, which is celebrated 50 days after Passover. Coming up we’ll mark the Feast of Pentecost with O Come Now Holy Spirit by John Amner, God is a Spirit by Sterndale Bennett, and The Spirit of the Lord from Sir Edward Elgar’s oratorio The Apostles.
