Today, August 16, we celebrate the Feast Day of Saint Rocco, our beloved patron saint.

For generations, our families have turned to Saint Rocco with faith and devotion, through sickness, hardship, and times of need. Today, we honor him just as those before us did, and we pray that this devotion continues to be passed down to our children and grandchildren.

Though our Feast in Fort Lee has come to an end for another year, today is truly Saint Rocco’s day.

May Saint Rocco continue to watch over our families, our members, our community, and all those who seek his intercession.

A year of planning. Three days of rain. And then this photo comes in.

We hear it all the time: “The Feast used to be all Italian.” It was. And today, it isn’t. And that’s okay.

People move away. Generations change. Sadly, people pass away. But what matters is that we keep our traditions alive, honor where we came from, and continue celebrating our Patron Saint, San Rocco.

Look at this street. Look at the crowd. People of every background coming together in Fort Lee to experience a tradition that has been passed down from generation to generation. That’s how a tradition survives. You keep the heart of it the same, while welcoming new people into it.

Today is the LAST DAY of the 97th Annual Saint Rocco Feast. Come celebrate Saint Rocco with us. Come eat. Come dance. Come be part of the tradition.

Judging by this photo… the energy on Main Street might be higher than The Modern tonight. 😂

VIVA SAN ROCCO!

When the crowds go home, the fun isn't over!

At the end of the night, our members, volunteers, and vendors took over the Waterman game for nothing but bragging rights.

Moments like these create lifelong memories, while celebrating another successful night together.

Midway Through the Procession... A Saint Rocco Tradition

A special throwback to 1990 at the home of our former Society President, Joe Mariano.

For many years, Joe opened his home to Society members and everyone walking in the procession, welcoming them with food, drinks, and hospitality at the midway point of the route.

As we celebrate another Feast, we remember the people and traditions that helped build it into what it is today.

Join us August 5–9 at the 97th Annual Saint Rocco Feast in Fort Lee! And don't miss our Annual Procession next Sunday at 4:00 PM, as we continue this cherished tradition through the streets of Fort Lee.

A look back to 1990!

The Running with Saint Rocco has been one of the most cherished traditions of our Feast for generations. Every year, the streets of Fort Lee filled with faith, emotion, and the excitement of seeing our patron saint being carried home.

Take a look at this incredible footage from 1990.

Do you recognize anyone? Were you there? Maybe you were carrying the statue, running alongside, playing in the crowd, or watching with your family.

Share your memories below and tag someone you recognize. Let's see how many familiar faces we can find after all these years.

People often ask me, "Which Italian Feast is the best?"
The truth is, everyone will be biased towards the one they grew up with, and rightfully so.

As someone who's been part of organizing our Feast for over 20 years, I believe rather than asking which Feast is the best, let's appreciate what they all represent. Every Feast has its own story, its own traditions, and a group of volunteers who pour their hearts into making it happen. Maybe the better question isn't, "Which Feast is the best?" Maybe it's, "How lucky are we to have so many communities keeping these traditions alive?"

This week, I visited the Saint Ann's Feast in Hoboken twice. One of my favorite moments wasn't just the food or the rides, it was watching people sitting on the church steps, sharing a meal, listening to the music, talking with family and friends, and simply enjoying being together. There's something timeless about that scene. It reminded me why these Feasts mean so much.

Thank you to every volunteer who spends countless hours planning, fundraising, cooking, cleaning, setting up, and organizing these incredible events. Thank you for keeping our faith at the heart of each Feast. Thank you for preserving the traditions our parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents entrusted to us.

Every Feast, no matter how big or small, helps ensure the next generation experiences what it means to be part of an Italian-American community.

To everyone at the Saint Ann's Feast, and to every Feast committee across the country, thank you for carrying these traditions forward. They matter more than you know.

Faith. Food. Family. Tradition. May we never stop passing them on because they are the foundation of who we are.
