🕊️ With Heavy Hearts, Yet Steadfast Hope
It is with profound sadness that the Gateway Church family announces the sudden passing of our beloved Co-Founder and longtime leader, Reverend Dr. N.R. Hyatt.
For more than 50 years, Dr. Hyatt faithfully served this ministry and the people God entrusted to its care. Alongside her beloved husband, she helped establish Gateway Church and dedicated much of her life to its growth, stability, and service to God.
Following her husband's illness and subsequent passing nearly two decades ago, Dr. Hyatt stepped forward to help lead the church into its next chapter. With remarkable strength, wisdom, faith, and grace, she continued the work they had begun together—faithfully overseeing the ministry, organizing its worship and operations, supporting its ministers, and, above all, caring for the flock.
For many, Dr. Hyatt's presence has been part of their lives for 30, 40, and even 50 years. She witnessed generations grow within this church family and leaves behind a legacy that reaches far beyond the walls of a building.
Today, our hearts are deeply broken.
Yet even in the midst of our sorrow, we hold firmly to the God whom Dr. Hyatt trusted throughout her life.
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”
— Psalm 46:1
The God who sustained her is still our God.
The Christ at the center of this ministry is still our Savior.
And the grace that carried her through every season will carry us now.
We ask that you keep the Hyatt family, the Gateway Church family, our leadership, and all whose lives she touched lifted in prayer.
In the coming days, we will have an opportunity to remember and celebrate the remarkable life, service, and legacy of Dr. N.R. Hyatt. Additional information will be shared as it becomes available.
For now, we grieve together. We pray together. We care for one another. And we remain united in faith.
Our hearts are broken, but our faith is not.
We thank God for the extraordinary gift He gave us through the life of our beloved Dr. N.R. Hyatt.
🕊️ “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Matthew 25:23
With profound sorrow, enduring gratitude, and steadfast hope,
